The crew is always ready to help, and they’ve turned repairs around quickly. That location is very convenient to Oak Mountain State Park, which is where I ride most of the time. Five stars.

Cahaba Cycles has a large selection of bikes ,parts and accessories everything you could want or need to stay on the road or trail. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Service is great and fast. Why would you want to go anywhere else.

You guys put together my brand new Spot Acme and cross treaded the left crank pedal. I brought it back for you to fix. You put a helicoil repair and charged me for the repair. I’ve ridden the bike with the helicoil repair but not sure it’ll hold up. Your technician told me if the helicoil doesn’t work we will have to reorder a replacement crank arm. I told him I will not be paying for a new crank arm since it’s your fault. I own 8 bikes and have never had a crank arm pedal threads get destroyed. Only plausible scenario is cross threading during installation.

I was in from out of town (I grew up in Homewood), and I really appreciate Chris W. going the literal and figurative extra mile the following day after my visit to the Homewood location, to pick up a Seasick Records jersey in my size (the Homewood location only had "women's" sizes when I was perusing the jersey selection there). That location does get busy on a Saturday, which resulted in a little bit of a wait to buy the jersey, but overall a great experience, and I love that the Homewood location has a Domestique coffee shop in it. I also found a great pair of gloves on sale when I bought the Seasick jersey. Thanks to y'all for keeping at it after all these years.

I ordered a wheel, tire and tube for a bike I bought from the same store. About a week later I got a text saying that it was in; so I went by to pick it up. However, it was just the wheel (not the tire nor tube) - obviously a bit aggravating. After about three more weeks, I called to check on the status only to be told that it was in and had been for a while but that it was put in “layaway”. When I go in to pick it up, they had ordered the wrong wheel and are now supposedly ordering the right wheel, tire and tube……

Goods being sold at the store were great: a lot of variety and attentive staff to help cover your needs.
I recently came in because I attempted to build a bike but realized I was out of my lane; it was my first attempt and was having trouble with internal wiring, brakes, the whole nine. I figured I could bring it in and have the professionals do it.
I brought in a custom made frame made by an international bike maker(Marino.) The problem that arose was that my rear shock did not come with mounting hardware. I was told that I should contact the frame builder and request info. I did so, and expressed that the bike smith of Marino Bike frames and I had a language barrier and was not able to ascertain the mounting hardware information(he spoke Spanish and I do not.) I asked The tech at Cahaba if they could take digital calipers measure the inner spacing where the shock would be placed and try to find the best fit since the frame came with an M8 bolt already; I had stated that if they ordered the closest size and one size up I would pay for both.
I was told that they did the measurements, they contacted SRAM and said that SRAM did not make the particular mounting hardware that could fit the frame. They then suggested that I buy a brand new shock and forget about the shock that I had brought in to install, which was also brand new.
After purchasing some mtb shorts, I took the frame and parts home and took my digital calipers, measured it, and found the mounting hardware that matched the measurements(M8x22.2 and m8x38.1.) I have since installed he rear shock.
I understand that it was a challenge, but I guess I was a little disappointed that 1. I was told that it could not be done and 2. I was told that purchasing a brand new shock would fix my problem. Maybe I am just ignorant to the bike building process, but I can’t help but think that if I were to bring other problems/ challenges to to shop I may face the same situation and therefore find the solution myself.
I get good advice from the staff about my needs. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
I took my older, but loved road bike in for a tune-up and to track down some annoying clicks. Daniel and Elizabeth listened and asked the right questions to get my bike back in top riding condition. The repairs were timely and cost efficient and they communicated throughout the process what was needed and the cost for each item. I am so happy to have Cahaba Cycles nearby to grab parts and accessories or to ask advice on anything bike related.
