The service was great but we paid a lot of money for new wheels and when we got it back it was still filthy. I would have thought that for spending $230 to get new rims on a 13 yo kids bike that they could have washed it. Just a little disappointing. But everyone was friendly and efficient.
Really like the social distancing practices, available hand sanitizer and mask wearing by staff and customers observed yesterday. Great stuff.
Yet another awesome experience at The Bike Lane! This is the 2nd bike I purchased for my daughter. The tech even gave her a tour of the bike's features and a (welcomed!) lecture on taking care of her nice, new bike. I will definitely be buying from Bike Lane again.

1. I’ve ordered online 3 times since March and each time I go to pick up my order the sales person has to run around to many different places to find my items. Last time I got an email that said the item was ready for pick up but when I got there the item had not even been unpacked from the shipping box. These days being inside any longer than necessary influences where I shop.
Seems that having everything in one place before saying to come pick up would Improve the experience.
2. Curb side delivery for online orders. I’ll pop the hatch. You put the package in the trunk and push the close button. This would make me very happy. Total Wine does a great job at this.
3. And if I have to go inside the store, I’d appreciate if your employees respect the customer and the virus by being vigilant about social distancing. When last there I moved 4 times because an employee was going to come too close. Then gave no indication that they were aware that I was there and that they were going to change their trajectory.
I’m considered high risk. So I really don’t want to get sick.

Great bikes, very knowledgeable staff
I guess it's handling information, both internally and with the customer. My bike was ordered and I was given a specific delivery date, which didn't happen -- and nobody called or emailed to tell me about the delay. Once Todd later worked things out with a new delivery date -- and emailed me to keep me informed of the status, including that the bike would be built by a specific day/time (good move, Todd, thank you) -- the info apparently wasn't disseminated within the store, because when I showed up a day after the promised day/time, the salesperson told me the bike hadn't arrived yet. When I insisted it had (per Todd's emails), he looked again and found it -- still in the box. Your team quickly assembled it, gave me a beer and chips on house, and generally made things right, but the hassle could've been avoided.

As of this week, I have bought 3 bikes from TBL, 2 for myself and now one for my wife. Whether you're a commuter, casual rider, or a competitor, everyone at TBL makes the effort to take care of you. Unlike other bike shops that come across as only really interested in the person with $5K to spend on a bike, TBL definitely has the family feel (and family owned feel) that you want in a local bike shop that you know will do their best to take care of you. Even in the midst of a pandemic they knew what was necessary to accommodate their customers, make them feel safe, and ensure they had enough stock to fill order requests.
After years of trying, my wife got into riding with myself and our 3 kids and I wanted to get her a nicer bike than the 40lb Fuji (with mtn bike tires) she had borrowed from her parents. I was fortunate that the TBL Springfield staff, which is a mile from where I grew up, was able to reserve the ONLY alpine blue Trek FX2 Disc for her with an estimated pickup date of Aug 10. To my surprise I was able to pick it up on Aug 5 which was perfect because our 10 year anniversary was just a few days later. Thank you TBL for always offering a family-centric experience and taking care of our community.

I have been dealing with the Bike Lane since you were located in Burke (since approximately 2008 maybe). Myself and my son have a lot of BMX bikes, one MTB and an older trail bike.
Shawn has always been a consummate professional, and the main reason why I continue to bring the older bikes in to be worked on.
Last month I brought a bike in for a bottom bracket issue, and I dealt with another bike mechanic. You guys were super busy, and I don’t want to jump to any conclusions, but suffice to say I almost took my bike back; but Shawn stepped in and offered to spend some time on it. Again, he remains to be the reason I bring my service to the Bike Lane.
In the future, I will be happy to leave my bike until such time when Shawn is able to look at it, or I will consider bringing my bike to another shop.
I never leave comments but I felt compelled to this time; thank you for your time, and for continuing to provide a useful service to the community.
