Although there are closer alternatives, I come to Bike Lane-Reston for 3.5 reasons:

Bought a precaliber 20 for my 6 year old.
Going for the very first test ride, the handlebar got completely disconnected from the wheel.
Fortunately, I was running alongside and cought him preventing a potentially serious injury.

I walked in, and immediately the owner and a sales rep came over to help me. They found a bike for me and sized me for it. The sales rep also sold me items that I needed for my new bike. I was so excited, as I have been looking for so long for a bike, and finally found one there. They have lots of inventory, and if they do not have what you are looking for in stock, they will order it, and likely you would receive it in a few weeks. I know this, as I have 2 other girlfriends who were looking for bikes. They had the bike that one of them was looking for, but was not in the color she wanted. Todd (the owner) told me that he could order it for her, and would likely get it within weeks. So, yea...I would definitely recommend them! :-)

Knowledgeable, friendly, willing to work with everyone from kids to dedicated racers to grocery shopping elders. If you don’t have a part, happy to order it to put you back on the trail. And they know the local riding paths, having been on them personally.

I've been prepping for a 55-mile bike tour on Sept 13th, and my [Bike Lane] bike needed work. In fact, it had a flat rear tire following a 46-mile ride from Sunday the 30th. I called ahead on Wednesday 9/2 to make/verify arrangements, and on Thursday 9/3 I got in line around 1 PM. I got into the [Springfield] store around 1:30 and got waited-on almost immediately. I was told service could be either while I waited, or I could come back after getting a text msg. Since I hadn't had lunch yet, I chose the latter option. My bike needed a chain, bar tape, inner tubes, and a detailed check-over to be ready for some Labor Day weekend riding, and the 55-mile event 10 days hence. Derrick was my technician, and he's helped me before.
Given all the hassles we all currently have to go through with challenges presented by the CCP Virus, what with masks, changed business hours, new policies and procedures, turnaround time was simply amazing. I live about 10-15 mins away, and I got the text that the bike was ready (in less than an hour) while I was still at-home getting lunch! According to the paperwork, service was actually scheduled to be finished around 7 PM on 9/4, but I was able to pick up the bike just before 4 PM that day. And yes, everything looks and feels great.
So once again, thank you all very much for the outstanding service and work!
