I needed a new tyre for my Procalibre so I went online to Trek Bikes to check out the available tyres and prices. I found the one I needed, but as it was a tubeless tyre and, being completely useless at bike maintenance myself, I decided to email Trek Store Manchester to ask for a quote for supply and fitting.
I received a quick response from Paige, who sent me a quote for the work. I was advised that there would be a short wait while the tyre was ordered into the store, but it was only a couple of days before a convenient date was arranged for me to bring the bike in.
When I arrived at the store, I was greeted by Paige, who introduced me to Paddy, the mechanic who would be working on my bike. I asked if there was any chance of giving the bike a wash too, as I hadn’t cleaned it in a while, and for a small additional fee this was added to the job.
Paddy advised that the work would take around an hour and that I could either wait in the store or come back later. As it was a glorious day, I decided to head off and return later. Just before the hour was up, I received a call to say the bike was ready to collect.
After collecting the bike and paying, I got chatting with Paddy, who explained that he had “lubed and torqued everything up.” We also had a good chat about some of the other bikes on display in the store. It was clear that he was extremely knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about bikes.
When I got back on my bike to ride home, I honestly couldn’t believe how good it felt. It genuinely felt like I was riding a brand-new bike! I even ended up taking a detour and going the long way home because I was enjoying it so much! 😂
My experience with Trek Store Manchester was extremely pleasant from start to finish. The store has a relaxed but still very professional atmosphere, which made me feel completely comfortable. The communication from Paige was always prompt, friendly and courteous, and Paddy went above and beyond with my bike. His knowledge and enthusiasm were also really impressive.
So, a massive thank you to Paige and Paddy — you were both brilliant! 👍🏻🚴♂️

Brilliant experience with the team at Cookson's cycle's. I ordered a new bike online on the Wednesday afternoon and it was built and ready for collection by Friday morning. After an issue with my seat post I showed up in store to ask for their help and within a couple of hours it was fixed. I also received some great advice and help from the team about my bike set up and I'm looking forward to booking in with the team for a bike fitting soon. I would highly recommend purchasing through Cooksons cycles, not only for their fast turnaround and quality bikes, but for their aftercare and customer support which follows if you require it.
