Great product and efficient service department.
Like gary or greg store owner, but when we bouth previously, last yar, Indian dude lied. Had to show him the website for the price. No bargaining here. Overcharged us, but that was a year ago, so not much we can do now. No wiggle room, also only place to buy trek bikes & electric bikes

Work on time!
Great customer service. Friendly. Excellent work. Do not try to overcharge you or make you buy stuff you don't need. Seems like they keep staff for a long periods of time. A great store for service
My experience at TREK Downer’s Grove was by far the worst I’ve ever had at a bike shop.
I brought my bike in for an estimate after being involved in a hit-and-run during my commute to work. When I explained the situation to the man at the counter—who I later found out was the manager—he barely acknowledged what I said and acted as if I was inconveniencing him. Still, he said they'd take a look and provide an estimate.
A few days later, I received a call saying my bike and the estimate were ready.
When I went to pick it up, I was blindsided with a $125 charge—for the estimate alone. At no point did anyone mention there would be a fee. Nothing had been repaired or adjusted. Just an estimate. For comparison, a previous shop I worked with, Wheel & Sprocket, provided an estimate completely free of charge and handled everything with kindness and professionalism.
I was shocked and frustrated by what felt like a blatant ripoff, but I paid the fee, grabbed my bike and the removed wheel, and walked out to my car.
I returned shortly after to ask for a receipt. That’s when things went from bad to worse. The owner made a mocking remark to the manager, saying, “Look who’s back,” while raising his arms in a gesture imitating me carrying my bike. The manager then falsely claimed he had told me about the fee—but offered to waive it if I bought a new bike from them.
I didn’t argue. I just wanted my receipt. But then, in an oddly condescending tone, the owner asked, “Why are you upset? Isn’t this for an insurance claim?”
That’s when I realized what they were trying to do: charge a ridiculous fee assuming insurance would cover it. What they never bothered to ask—or even care about—was that this wasn’t going through insurance. The driver who hit me had none, and since I wasn’t physically injured, the police couldn’t do much. This expense was entirely mine to carry.
The owner and manager of TREK Downer’s Grove weren’t just unhelpful—they were callous, dishonest, and completely lacking in empathy. Of all the stressful parts of this experience, dealing with them was by far the worst.
I will never return to this store, and I strongly advise others to avoid it. On the other hand, I can’t recommend Wheel & Sprocket highly enough. They treated me with kindness, didn’t try to profit off my situation, and truly helped me when I needed it most.
