Quick service, and well done. They were upfront with cost and timing. Only issue is they clearly did not do a road test of the bike. I had to fix my front brake after first ride because the caliper nut was loose, creating a squelch when I applied the brakes under a load. Was surprised that wasn’t caught during the tuneup. Issue didn’t exist before I brought the bike in.
Attentive staff!
John was very nice and greeted me outside the Reston store before opening time as they were preparing and bringing the display bikes outside. I needed a GU pack to finish my ride back to Alexandria, so he helped me out with a quick sale so I could be on my way. Friendly and helpful is always the way at The Bike Lane. Thank you!
Few points:
- The phone number listed for Bike lane keeps ringing and no ones answers it.
- I got my bike two days after the promised delivery date.
- Your store is out of stock for most of the important bike accessories, if you want to run this business you need to make sure you do have the needed items
- Wait time is little too much, but it is understandable its covid19 era so its okay.
Shorten the wait for service
I was waiting outside with my Checkpoint SL5 in line about a quarter past noon. Vincent saw me, asked what was up. A short time later my front derailleur cable was replaced and the bike is well tuned again. The service is exactly why I love The Bike Lane.
Also, I got to see first hand the number of bikes in the shop dropped off for service, and the number of people in line after me. Crazy! The Bike Lane team employees are heroes supporting the COVID 19 demand in the shop. Thank you!
Very friendly and knows staff
The Bike Lane is a wonderful store with great service and high quality BUT half the staff were not wearing masks and made no attempt to respect social distances. Please be more considerate of your patrons’ health and risk factors!
Friendly staff.
Very informative.
The sales rep, John, who helped me was great! He understood what I was looking for and worked with me to resolve my issue. He also made some suggestions that gave me an additional option. You guys are my new bike shop! Plus, I live only one mile away.
I went to the store to buy a pair of shoes for spin class. I was shown a selection of shoes and provided with recomendations. The store employee was friendly and helpful. Great service and pleasant environment.
Branded cycles are available and it’s a nice store and people are helpful.
I am a bike newbie. I came in for a replacement brake cable kit for my daughter’s little Trek we bought used, and which has Vbrakes....which I have come to learn should cost around $10...plus a little for the noodle. I called ahead to make sure that you had what I was looking for and after I was assured that you did I came in. I actually talked with the guy that I spoke with on the phone and he directed me to the mechanics in the back. After I gave the mechanic my spiel about my daughters bike in the V brake, the mechanic proceeded to cut me a custom length of naked brake cable and handed it to me as if that’s all I needed. When I clarified that I was after a brake kit, he said they were out of stock and then looked at me. I asked him if there wasn’t some more things than just naked cable that came in the kit. He said oh yeah and then proceeded to cut me a custom length of cable housing. Then he just looked at me again. If I knew then what I know now I would’ve set everything on the counter and walked out because this guy was giving me the business....or just not “with it”. But I was still a newbie so I just proceeded to ask if there weren’t supposed to be some fittings that went along with the cable and the housing? He said oh yeah again, and turned around and picked up some ferrules and a cable end for me – but no extras. I got charged 20 bucks for that pile of garbage and he didn’t even give me a noodle, which a bike mechanic should know that V brakes require, but which I forgot to ask for under the circumstances. I’m not even 100% positive that I could have done this with a proper brake kit, but I was willing to give it a try. But instead I feel like I’ve been screwed and I’m still missing critical parts that I need to complete this job....even after “paying double” for the parts I have. Name removed Phone number removed
Great service and customer service! Love my bike :)
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good prices.
My order was delivered very fast. I was really happy with my new bib
Flat tire change was quick, reasonably priced, and done well on 6/6/20.
Thank you
Pleasant to deal with. Had a return and there was not a problem!
Knowledgeable and friendly staff, excellent customer service and a great cafe where you can socialize and energize. I highly recommend this business.
The owner Todd and his whole staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable with any bike questions. I was a new rider and the first time I stopped in, they answered all my questions and gave many recommendations that made my decision on which bike to buy easier. All in all great company with great products.
Prompt and friendly service.
Great local store with atmosphere and a place to restock on supplies (both pre and post ride). Service is a bit hit and miss. I find the “old timers” are friendly but sometimes the looks I get from the young guys working there are a bit like “how do you not know that?” and condescending.
The bike techs are awesome and super responsive. Always do a good job.
Very Friendly and helpful staff
Knowledgeable, friendly staff
Efficient and helpful.
Highly knowledgeable of products. Friendly service.
I endeavor to support local businesses, inspite of issues.
Please note that I purchased a Specialized Sirrus 25 years ago and lived in The Netherlands for several years.
I upgraded my bike, to a Trek FX-4, which is very similar to my Specialized bike, that my son will take to college. The air pump sucks, but the manager at your Reston site was very engaging and discounted my purchase of a new pump. The bike is weighty, and the tires are fair. I have replaced the tires with Armadillo tires, and am considering replacing the wheels...

I received verbal estimate of $ 50 and one week to complete
Final bill was $ 120 and it took more then 2 weeks
EE are cordial, work done well

I came in with a flat tire. The associate that approached me told me my tires looked like they needed replacing, mentioned that they were older and that I would be safer on better tires. He offered to have them replaced, to which I agreed. He later returned and informed that the tubes would need to be replaced to match the new tire size. My tubes were 1 month old and I had no intention of replacing them when I arrived, but I agreed to that too because he said its unsafe for the sizes not to match. I left paying close to $200 only to have my old tires handed back to be on my way out the door. I was told to keep them in case I needed a spare.
I asked why I would keep tires with a hole and the young man explained that they never had a hole, the presta valve on my wheel was just stuck.
I felt fooled and tricked. I love the bike lane, and would have happily bought tires at a future date, but yesterday felt like I was intentionally advised to pay for a service that was not needed.
My husbands bike now has a flat and I am not sure I can trust what I am told at your store. I am hesitant to return.
