I am thrilled with my purchase at Helen's Cycles in Santa Monica.
I have just started riding more seriously and was ready to move up to a road bike. My friends (who are avid cyclists) suggested I try as many bikes at as many stores as possible. My husband & I went to Helen's Cycles first. Josh greeted us kindly and helped me try several bikes in my size, adjusting the seats and answering all my beginner questions. I loved the first bike he showed me but needed to do my due diligence and try as many bikes as possible. I asked Josh if he could hold the bike for the day and he was happy to do so.
We continued to several other bike stores and tried other bikes in the same range, what continued to come to mind was not only the bike I had really liked that I felt just right on, but how Josh had interacted with us. He was kind, patient, answered all our questions and seemed to want to help me find the right bike for my needs, not just make a sale.
Needles to say... I went back and bought the the bike I fell in love with.
Since then, my husband also bought a bike from Helen's. This time it was a bit harder to find something as supply was low in my husbands size in all the stores we went to. Again we ended up a Helen's Cycles working with Josh. The bike my husband wanted would not be coming into stock for another year! A similar model would be coming into stock in 3 months, my husband put a deposit down on the bike that would be coming in. Within a couple of days Josh was able to find that model at another store and within a week, trade for it. We were told the owner drove several hours to picked it up himself.
We could not be happier with the level of service and attentiveness we have been shown.

Needed new brake pads. Got em. Real easy. The gentleman offered to put them on for them but I thought I'd take a shot at it on my own. Very affordable and easy.

I love Helen’s. The staff always helpful and very genuine with any of their advice and recommendations. Always willing to answer questions..even my dumb questions :). The quality of their service is great too. I’ve had 4 different bikes serviced here for various reasons. This will always be my go-to spot.

The staff was very helpful and prompt especially Mr. Scott. He made sure everything was kept ready as my wife was in LA for work and she picked the bike for me.
Would be nice if you could keep more accessories for the brands you have. Like I wanted Trek bottles, Trek light remote etc. But overall a super experience I have had and will definitely recommend you guys! Now you can send me a Trek jersey for my kind words ha ha just kidding! 😅

$110 for brake installation while already paying $160 for a tune up (which per the mechanic is the disassemble and reassemble of the entire bike) is a cash grab. That aside my bike was returned with a greasy film all over it which attracted dirt all over but especially in the crank and cassette. Spent nearly 300 in labor and the service and quality would have been underwhelming at a reasonable price let alone being ripped off
