Great service and knowledge about all the bikes and accessories. You don't just get a bike, there's a car rack, helmets, comfortable bike seats, locks and of course the bikes themselves. Been a while since I've ridden and want to get bak into it, and the gent that help us made it so pleasant and easy. This morning at 6:00 my son and I got up and rode down by the PCH and beach. it was fantastic !
it was expensive! AND learned upon checking out at the cash wrap that if I use contactless pay, everything I buy is non-refundable. That's not right! That shouldn't be the case anyway. I think you need to update your systems, if so. It's really discouraging people to NOT use the service. Also, I could argue that since you're touching the Credit Card reader machine thingy, you could be spreading COVID. Just my two cents.

Wilbur is the best, I would change bike shops if he ever left. When he was sick with Covid I mailed him a check. When he returned he said Helen's was good to him when he was recovering. He was glad to be back and working again. This means to me Jay takes care of his employees, that's why there is low turnover.
BTW, I'm on my 5th great Mt Bike bought at Helen's, the last two were IBIS Mojos.

My bike needed a major service and new parts. You HAD the parts on hand, which is a major deal these days. My bike was put in top order, quickly. I am a very happy customer.
Nick Perzik was super helpful to me in selecting a bike and buying it. Knowledgeable, patient, friendly. I would recommend you guys without hesitation!
When I went to pay for the bike that I had left for service, I was expected to pay for it before I was given a detailed invoice as to what had been done. I knew that it was going to be in excess of $250. But, I was asked to give my credit card for a nearly $400 invoice before I was able to look at the detailed invoice.
It would be the better part of good faith to be able to see the detailed invoice before paying the bill.
All of the things on the invoice we legitimate -- and necessary. I'm not complaining about the size of the bill. Only that I would have appreciated seeing it before my credit card was run to make the payment.
Staff and selection
I really appreciate the help I received. The only issue is the slow and/or delayed response. But, that is understandable because it appears that the staff was extremely busy. The staff was friendly and pleasant, and followed up on my request.

I brought my 3 kids to Helen's to get them all new bikes. We arrived and started looking at the available bikes. The sale associate wasn't very knowledgeable about the different options. I did a bit of research myself online and made some decisions on which bikes to buy for my kids. Everyone we excited about getting their new bike. However, despite being the same bike as the others (only a different color), one of the bikes we decided on was nearly double the price of the other bikes. When I inquired why, they responded by saying it's a different model number. The bike center was nearing their lunch break thus we left the bike shop without purchasing the bikes and the kids were obviously disappointed. When I did some further research online, I found the exact bike on the cannondale website for a much lower price. I called Helen's MB and inquired why their price for the same bike was twice as expensive as the website, the put me on a long hold and came back to report that they had mismarked the item and the online price was the correct price. I then drove back to the center to buy 3 bikes and 3 bike bells without any apologies and without any discounts or complimentary accessories. As you can imagine, if my kids were not extremely disappointment and sad that they were not getting the promised bikes, I would have purchased elsewhere online and have it shipped to my house.
