I have bought bikes and components there before. Bought my first real bike (Raleigh, back when they were good) at Helen's in Santa Monica in 1985.
I was looking for a box to ship a bike in. Called the shop, they guy said he would check and they had one they gave me. Now my bike is packed and on it's way to Washington.

Repair took longer than promised, mainly due to bicycle being lost during repair period.

Eric Renick helped me out. Super great guy. Helpful and honest. Got me the exact bike (and gear) I needed. Didn’t try to upsell me. Was honest about sizing - even if they didn’t have it in stock. Would highly recommend Eric and Helen’s.
