Fast and reliable
Last year I had bought brand new Speedplay cleats, even though it was the old, the yellow model. This year I wanted them installed as my bike fitter told me there were to left ones. When I went back to Helen’s for replacement the sales personell told me that they could’t take them back. For once, Speedplay had been sold to Wahoo in the meantime and Helen’s had some 90 day policy in place for returns. So I was stuck with what I had. I had to buy new Wahoo-Speedplay cleats, albeit I could manage a 20% discount from Helen’s. To be very frank I am appalled by that idea of customer service. I am really angry. How is it the customer’s fault when the item one buys (the two left cleats) is inadequate. Helen’s should have taken that back and given me the new Wahoo cleats instead. This was not the first item I had bought from Helens in all these years but it will most likely be the last one. I am tempted to even return the discounted, new Wahoo cleats just because I really want nothing to do with this story any more.

I love that you contacted me about not being able to find my product and then gave me other options to solve my problem. But when you finally found my product you contacted me to disregard the earlier note. Felt like real humans, working at a real American company. Great experience.

Everyone at the shop was very friendly!
The way you treat customers like sheep to be feared has turned me off forever. Your competition in store and online doesn’t shut down for two hours or barricade customers outside until they are ready to receive the customer. I actively recommend that all my biker friends go elsewhere. I only came into the store to spend a gift card. I have to say that the feeling I got when I opened the gift card was dread. Was this the way people shopped in the Soviet Union?

I was disappointed that I was going to have to drive up to Santa Monica to pick up my daughter's new bike, but then I was thrilled that the Helen's Cycles team immediately agreed to ship it to their Manhattan Beach store for me... not only that, but they were also happy to hold it in store for me for a week so that I didn't have to worry about hiding her birthday present till the big day. Thank you for your wonderful customer service! She loves her new big girl bike :)
