Thank you for helping us! Very friendly staff.
This was my first time at Bicycle Habitat and I had a great experience. My derailleur cracked in half when I was on my way to work. Not only were they able to find a part to replace the derailleur that's original to my 1980s Miyata, but the staff put me in a better mood that day! They were very clear about pricing and told me the would call if any additional work was needed before they did the work. I picked up my bike 2 days later and it feels brand new! I already sent my brother there to get his bike tuned up since I had such a great experience and even though their locations aren't close to my neighborhood, I will definitely be back for all my biking needs.
No in store access makes the experience disconnecred
dropped my bike off for the $185 clean and tune up. I realize the hours have changed since the pandemic but I showed up early hoping I could literally drop it off, i had already paid for the service days early when getting it repaired from a crash. The store officially opened at 11am but i was hoping that I could save some time in my day by showing up early and catching whomever was opening the door. I did and explained the situation, no paperwork necessary, just need to drop it off. It was 10:30a and i totally understand he wasn't ready for me and needed to get into the store first but 10 mins later when he opened for other employees I tried to explain that I really just need to drop the bike off, don't need any paperwork, and his attitude was more like "the customer is always stupid". I'm totally willing to forget that, I've worked retail, no one wants to be approached before the store is open. Today I returned to pick up my bike and not seeing the handwritten sign on the door I walked in where I was greeted with "didn't you read the sign, we're closed because of possible Covid exposure" by the same guy. I waited outside to get my bike, not bothered by that, but then I got my bike and rode away realizing that the handle bars are not in line with the front wheel, there was grease on the seat which is now on my pants, the bike seat stem is covered in black grease, and I expected the bike to be clean. The gears are clean but derailleurs, brake reservoirs, hubs are all covered in dirt and black grease. I guess I thought that would all be cleaned or wiped down for $185. I've bought all my kids bikes at Bicycle Habitat in Park Slope and I can't recall the guy that used to work there, maybe he still does, but he was great and I always felt like he listened, wanted to help, and gave great advice. Very customer service oriented. Customer service to me does not mean "the customer is always right" but it does mean treating the customer with respect and providing a friendly welcoming exchange. Again, I don't blame the guy that helped me, he did take my bike in before 11am, just a slight attitude that could be improved

Great atention
The staff were really knowledgable about what work bike needed and offered advice on what other adjustments I might want Last name removed make Last name removed make for a better ride. I also didn't feel like they were trying Last name removed upsell anything Last name removed me at all. The turnaround was super quick and I'm happy my bike feels like new again.
I like that you go the extra mile to help and how knowledgable you are about the products.
Great service
Less wait time for mechanics (I know this is approximately impossible these days)
you guys are all good.
Expertise in bicycles is great and staff is very approachable and helpful.
Bicycle Habitat has been my bike shop for 25 years. My favorite bike shop by a mile. Who is greater than Hal? Nobody. I've gotta say... I found this particular visit pretty excruciating and it's the first time that I ever felt like maybe I need to find a new shop. I came to drop off my son's bike for a tuneup. I waited in line outside over 15 minutes. Finally someone spoke with me and told me they couldn't take the bike. I had to schedule an appointment for drop off. OK. So, I scheduled a time. A few days later I came back. I waited in line outside for like 20 minutes. Finally someone talked to me. I told them that I had an appointment to drop off a bike. They went into the shop. Took a while. Came back out. And said they didn't see my appointment in the computer. They went back in. Took a while. Came back out. "Spell your name again?" Dude: I'm as covid-paranoid as anyone but just let me in the shop with my mask on to do this with you so I can drop off this fcking bike. I went inside. Found my appointment in the computer. Name was misspelled or something. Dropped off the bike. Basically took my entire lunch break to get that done. I came back a week later to pick up the bike. Waited outside for about 15 minutes til someone came and talked to me. Told them I was there to pickup a bike. They went back in to look for the bike. I waited another ten minutes. Got the bike. Paid $340 or so. Rode home. Expensive. But, as always, Bicycle Habitat did a great job with the bike. I have no complaints about the work. But the service was a bummer. The incredible amount of waiting time to get this appointment done... I don't know if I can do that again. I know the pandemic screwed up everything and also massively increased demand at bike shops. And space is tight in NYC. But it's been a couple of years now. And I feel like there should at least be a system that enables service personnel to check in with you faster and do some triage so people who just have a quick drop-off or pickup aren't waiting in line for 25 minutes. I think you guys have to figure this out. This might be the new normal for bike shops. Service is going to win.
You over promised and under delivered.
Very disappointing experience.
Taylor and the team were very helpful and patient, letting me test out several bikes until I found the right one. My new bike has been life-changing. Thank you!
Sales lady very helpful.

Great customer service. Michael and Victor and the staff are seriously attentive and professional.
lthe bike mechanic who helped me today was *amazing*. totally fixed a number of issues and so quickly!
I worked with (in order of meeting) Libby, Jon/John and Mike(self proclaimed "shorter Mike"). Each one of them took their time to talk with me, never speaking down or rushing me through questions or explanations. No matter if there was a line out of the door or no one around, they were super friendly and knowledgeable. I'm super happy I went with Bicycle Habitat :)
There is a very wide range of products available for all and the service staff are extremely knowledgeable, down to earth, professional, and all seem to love cycling in which creates a great atmosphere.
Service is just amazing! Very helpful staff! Made bicycle buying as easy as 123.
The person who help us listened and explained what he was going to look for and - when he figures out what was wrong - explained how he fixed it as well as what I should look for in the future.
Excellent timely professional and reasonably priced service.

Excellent, no problems
