The team was super helpful in answering all my questions, letting me try out different options, and helping me find the perfect bike. Loved my experience!
I mentioned ongoing difficulties with shifting and strange sounds to mechanic, but this was not addressed. My bike was "ready" 15 minutes after dropping it off for the new bike tune-up. The bike was not assembled well, and the derailleur it turns out was quite bent from the get-go. My ongoing mechanic repaired the bike and it is now working better than ever.
It was disappointing to have Brian set the expectation that he would help me find the most comfortable bike for my large frame and then try to coerce me to buy another bike that I already said I was not comfortable with, while attempting to gaslight me into thinking that my discomfort with the smaller bikes I was testing out was “70% mental”. It was also disappointing to be told that I would be able to test ride a bike that was built for me to test on, and then when I show up to test out the bike I’m being told that I can’t test ride it because “it’s about to rain”, even though it wasn’t raining when I showed up. It was even more disappointing when I finally got to test the bike out, and upon setting my own expectation that I needed to sell my current bike (like new condition $500 bike) that the store would likely only give me $50 for it. Was also annoying to be told by Brian that he would hold the bike for me for an extra 2 weeks as a courtesy because “that size and style bike isn’t in demand”, and then I get a phone call 5 days later pressuring me to buy the bike.
Kind staff, great service!
My bike feels so much better than before and not just for the tire that I replaced. Everything feels so much tighter. My bike feels like an extension of my body now. It's great!
Good quality gear. Staff was super helpful and knowledgeable.
Great Service! All the staff treat all the customers with the same level of courtesy and respect regardless of what kind of bike you own. Unlike that other bike store on northern 5th Ave, which shall remain nameless, that caters mostly to road racers. If you don't go into that store with less than a $2000 carbon racing bike you will get condescending and cold service.
Great service! That being said, I was sold the wrong part last time I was in there. I needed a threaded headset but was sold a thread less one. This is after I said "threaded" many times and we were all standing there looking at the bike which clearly had a threaded headset. Not sure how the disconnect occurred.
very helpful, friendly staff!
They are good
This week they changed flat tire: replaced inner tube and rim tape. I walked bike the very short distance home. I did not ride it. Next day the tire was flat again.
Same thing happened last summer!
The system at BH is not good for diagnosing deeper issues. They get work in and spit it out. The result being customers have to make repeated trips back.
I was going to Dixon’s but BH is closer so I switched. I will probably start going back to Dixon’s.
Very patient salesperson who worked with me on sizing and pricing of the bicycle as well as locks. I appreciated this as this is the first bike I've ever bought.
Service is fully on point re: attitude, timeliness, price.
And there is an ice cream shop 1/2 a block away.
Who could ask for anything more?
Salesperson sold me a helmet that was too big on my kid and then when I expressed doubt got condescending and brushed me off. Honestly I rated too low it wasn’t a 2 but I’m freaked out having a poorly sized helmet for my kid. Another staff person was lovely and helped me pick a multi tool.
Best service in Brooklyn:) although I miss the interior of the shop :) hope you open it soon!
Was happy to be able to drop off my rim and get a call when the tire was repaired. Thanks!
You are a local bike shop. Not many in the area
Folks were really helpful when I had a pretty bad tire and tube puncture. I didn't feel like I was getting hustled and I got exactly what I needed for my riding style
Good customer service
The service was priced fairly and done quickly. I will return for future repairs.
Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Live and breathe bikes
I was looking for a tire pump, and the Sales rep answered all my questions and was very helpful. I've never had bad service any time I've been to Bicycle Habitat. I bought my bike there and will continue to return for any service and accessory needs. Thanks,
Would be nice not to have to wait. Or at least to have benches outside once bikes are taken into the shop.
The salesperson/mechanic was very courteous and helpful in making suggestions to ensure that the bicycle was a proper fit for me. The decorum of the facility was lacking in many respects, but the service provided helped nullify the conditions.
Professional, we care attitude, quick response, you fixed the problem
Each staff member I've interacted with has been knowledgable and doesn't try and upsell anything. Provides options and suggestions.
Great bike shop. Been going there for the past 5 years for my daughters bike needs and have always come through. No pretensions and great advice.
Very professional and courteous staff. Always willing to help. Love this place!

Matt's attention and client service was noteworthy
