I had been finding the saddle on my road bike uncomfortable. It used to be okay and I thought it was just old and in need of replacement. I called into the shop with my bike and had a chat with Rick. He had a look at the saddle, checked the alignment etc. and suggested that it actually seemed okay. He sat me on his pressure pad and noted that things seemed to have changed since I originally bought the bike. Well, I've had a hip replacement operation since, so that could be the reason!
Anyhow, Rick booked me in for a bike fitting session.
So to keep the story short, at the fitting Rick identified my leg with the new hip as being slightly shorter than the other. To resolve the issue he fitted a shim under the cleat to effectively lengthen the leg and raised the saddle slightly so that it is the correct height for both legs!
I'm very grateful to Rick for identifying the problem and fixing it, rather than simply selling me a new saddle.
