I was unable to obtain the Specialized SL8 Sport locally so looking online I discovered two locations still having it in stock . The first I tried was unwilling to ship it to me , but Nick at Beyond Bikes , saw no problem , if I arranged the courier.
The bike was packed and photos sent , showing the high standard of care taken in the packing .
The courier collected the bike at the advised time and it arrived at my home in Inverness this morning , looking great !

The most outstanding aspect of Wheelbase in Kendal is the customer service. Yes, there's a good range of bikes, yes, there's loads of accessories and clothing etc. but it's the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff that sets this bike shop apart. This is the third bike I've bought from Wheelbase and it won't be the last. Thank you!
I had a great session with Vaughn. I had the comprehensive fitting and I was really pleased at what was covered and how it was structured. I had a cheaper hour-long service in the past and that was a waste of time in comparison - you really do get what you pay for. My flexibility and strength was assessed, I was videoed on the rig from front and side angles, and even the shape of my feet was checked. Recommendations were made for new shoes and custom insoles (which they sell), but at no point was I pressured to buying anything. At the end of the session we went through a range of potential bikes, comparing the geometry to my own, and recommendations were made. If I hadn't gone through this process I would have gone for a smaller bike, and the wrong type!

Lucie, Glenn and Tom make shopping for a bike an absolute pleasure. Lucie helped me choose the right bike and accessories for me and gave me loads of pointers and advice.
I’m autistic and can struggle going into shops sometimes but always feel comfortable here and Lucie and the team always make you feel very welcome.
When I went to collect the bike (which I am blown away with and super happy) Glenn made sure that the bike was the right size and got me set up with saddle height and gave me some really useful advice on how I can adjust my bike fit to suit me. He also gave me some great advice about bike racks and bags for bike packing as well as tents and other equipment. Tom made sure my pedals and shoes were ready to go and helped me get everything into the car.
All of this was done in a way that really shows how much these guys love bikes and cycling and really go the extra mile to make sure their customers are given the best. Not only do you get great service like this but I’d forgotten an item when I collected the bike; Lucie very kindly brought it round to my work to save me having to go back to collect it.
There’s really only one bike shop Me and my husband will consider when we are looking to upgrade bikes or need advice and it’s the guys at Pedal Power Loughborough.
