I needed new chain, wheel bearings and bottom bracket and the staff went over a range of options and prices and also the possibility to need new cassette and chain ring and prices for those. We agreed on a price to cover the essentials and at what price additional approval from me would be needed.
In the end the new cassette and chain ring were not recommended, saving me some money. I just got back from a test ride and the bike felt very good so their assessment seems to have been good.
The staff here are very capable and helpful and good at explaining and communicating. They previously serviced my shocks and lockout after other shops said they don't do that, so now Broken Spoke is my default and reliable place for service.
Their pricing is fair and they provide a detailed breakdown of their work and costs for labor and parts and I appreciate them greatly.

I knew exactly what it would cost and how long it would take. My 24 year old bike rides like new and I'm so happy I brought it in. It felt good to refurbish something rather than buy something brand new-

Service staff always willing to help out in a pinch and they came through again. Was having trouble getting a new tire on my rim and they took care of it rigt away despite being very busy while I was there.

Pat and the guys at the West Ashley (Charleston) location are always super nice, extremely knowledgeable, and always happy to answer any questions. Always a positive experience when visiting the store. I do my own wrenching, but on those occasions when I’ve needed help from the pro’s, I’ve always been more than pleased with the results. Can’t recommend enough.
