The convenience for the parents, especially on early dismissal days
Great personable counselors, flexible long hours
The hours are great and my kid has a blast
The group classes
Lots of classes seem to be cancelled. Parking is a problem. Our AOA leader will be out all summer for the camps. She’s a terrific teacher but subs are only so so. Many of us take the AOA class only because Colleen V teaches it. Disappointing.
Friendly and competent staff. Wonderful members who value health and fitness. Clean facility.
I wish I asked about assistance with the exercise equipment. I never saw help available up there. I joined for the pool, but would have used the gym if assistance/an orientation was provided. Maybe offer an orientation for new members.
atmosphere
Most of my friends and acquaintances, and I, are elders who depend on Silver Sneakers for gym memberships. It was painful to have to leave the Branford Y when my Medicare had to be switched to a SS provider. Maybe accept Silver Sneakers, plus charge each SS member a nominal fee to make up the diff between what they pay and what other Medicare gym memberships pay?
I appreciate the pool swim times and especially enjoy the cardio dance and Zumba classes.
I like the group classes.
What has happened to the Building Program? The Y in Stratford needs Serious Restructuring of facility.
Variety of classes and equipment availability.
You could improve by keeping a consistent year round water class schedule. I feel disrespected when every summer my water fit classes change times, and pools to accommodate the children’s summer schedules. The Y could also only hire swim aerobic instructors who know how to lead a water fit class. I would be willing to participate in all classes if each swim class instructor offered good classes. At my current Y we have an instructor who is her early eighties and although she participates her classes are of poor quality.
The amenities are really nice and most importantly, clean!
The resistance machines a little old.
Several rely on a seat that moves forwards and backwards. You can't read the distance "number" so one has to just guess how far to move the seat during each visit. If you guess wrong it locates your knee out of alignment with the "fulcrum" which can damage one's knee.
Swimming laps in the competition pool.
Full service organization, great staff, good activities provided
I like the Y a lot.
However, the men's locker room has developed a odor reminiscent of homeless shoe during 2026.
It did not smell like that in the past.
I have checked many lockers for the source of this odor, but have not found it.
I am sure that staff and other members have also been assaulted by this malignant odor.
We would all appreciate it if the locker returned to its previous benign condition.
Thank you.
I am very happy to have a membership. I enjoy the classes. I play pickle ball and use the gym.
The staff is helpful and friendly. The fitness classes are great and there will s many different ones to choose from. The members s in the classes are interactive and very friendly.
Patrick is wonderful and extremely dedicated to the children in the program. I would prefer that there is more outside time- especially on days when it's nice. They are often given iPad time rather than being told to play outside. Otherwise, I have been extremely happy with the care and support my child has received with the after care program.
I've been a member since 1980. Just love all the staff and a clean facility
love the community. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.
We love the schedule, the options, the staff and activities
Bring back silver sneaker. Help seniors
Clean premises and helpful staff
A number of items. I have witness 2 adults slip and fall coming in from the pool and all you did was post a sign. How about covering the floor with the heavy black rubber mats.??? The shower room is very slippery and so are the hallways. A lawsuit is waiting to happen unless someone did already. You allow parents (nonmembers) to park in the parking lot while their children play soccer. Sometimes when this happens, I can't find a place to park. I understand they also are allowed to use the bathrooms. I feel you are taking on many new members without the facilities large enough to handle all the members. Classes are always full or overflowed. The price keeps going up. Upstairs there should be a trainer constantly walking around helping members. Most of the time they are sitting in an office on their phone. During the summer you change the times because of a 6-week camp. What about the full-time members. You don't take them into consideration... Not as happy as I was when I signed up 3 years ago.
Aqua fitness classes

From birthday parties, to gymnastics, to our third year at camp teepee we love the Trumbull ymca and feel very blessed to be part of the community that surrounds it.
