1st time I came to purchase a bike for my older son, the person that helped us was great. My son was so happy to get his first bike, and he made it fun for him. This last time I came to take my second son (on his 7th birthday) to get his bike. "it's his birthday today," 1st thing we said when we met our salesperson. The person helping us seemed annoyed, barely addressed my son, kept picking up phone calls from the store, and then just told us to go pay. He just made my son nervous because he wasn't friendly or nice.
Also, when I called a while back regarding my 1st son's free bike tune-up. We purchased the bike in May 2019, but the pandemic hit, and we didn't feel safe coming in April or May 2020. The person I spoke to said they would extend the free tune-up service due to the pandemic and come in when we felt safe. When I asked the person helping me about it, he commented, " You purchased it 2 years ago, so no", which was very dismissing. Did he not realized that the pandemic was still going on... I understand that it's been close to 2 years, but I have kids. I can not just take it out during a pandemic until I feel it is safe. I was so irritated; I forgot to tell the cashier to give me the UCLA discount.
I returned because the services were great the first time, I thought they cared about their clients during a global pandemic, and I wanted to support my local bike store. Now I would not recommend Helen's to my neighbors, co-workers, or friends. My son's 7th birthday gift excitement was killed, and he was just nervous and rushed.
The team at Helens is the best. Monty and the service guys are always on top of it with great advice and knowledge to back it up.

Take care of costumers better, no matter who that is, if the costumer comes not well dressed but said hello well and have manners treat them same as you would treat your rich costumers the ones who you already know. I think people will love to come to your store more.
I ordered a gift certificate on line and haven't heard back as to when it will be ready for pick up. Not sure why it's taking so long and can't reach a live person at the store.

The experience was great, Greg one of the sales rep was very professional and polite, he went above and beyond our needs for a bike, our experience was great and would defensively come back and refer some friends.
I purchased a Trek Bicycle from the Manhattan Beach store in 2019. Since then I have gone there for all of my accessories needed. Then COVID hit and I also moved to Long Beach. Needless to say I wasn't able to go back for all of my tune-ups. I finally returned to the store in 2021 looking to get advice and direction on which rims and tires to buy for the best performance on my Fuji Bike, Which I purchased somewhere else before I purchased the Trek from Helen's Cycles. The guy that I spoke with wasn't very helpful and I felt like he had better things to do. I was speaking to him about getting my Trek tuned up and upgrading my Fuji. The only thing I left there with was an appointment for the tune up and disappointment. I never made that appointment. I was hoping to find the guy that I built a relationship with from visiting the store so often. He was nowhere to be found. This is why my score is what it is.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very patient and helpful. Pleasantly surprised that there was inventory in different price ranges and we could choose from a few bikes, given that we heard it is still hard to find bikes during Covid.

The salesperson Brady was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. I never felt pressured or stressed despite coming in close to closing time. He helped me pick the right bike and lock and answered many questions to put my mind at ease. Thank you so much!
