passion for the sport
Was greeted upon entry. My bike was taken straight back to have a tube put in. Took just a few minutes. Asked some advice on riding as I am new to the sport. Was given some good pointers. Great overall experience!
The staff!
Comfortable “at home” culture. Nice selection of products.
Everybody is super friendly and ready to help out. I love of how community oriented the shop is. The new Homewood store is fantastic and adding Domestique was a real good touch.
Kenny was wonderful to work with. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and is generous with his time. He’s helping me buy the right gear that I need to get started.
Daniel, the repair man, is friendly and knowledgable. The shop is so pleasant. Liz on the telephone is a joy to call. The electric bicycles were reasonably priced. It seems to attract all sorts of bikers. There's also a great porch to hang out on and wait to meet other serious cyclers, although you may want to check with the shop about hanging out! Anyway this shop gets 2 thumbs up from me! Name removed
I had a bent rim on my bike and wanted that fixed. When I brought it in they told me they could fix it and do a minor overhaul for $100. I didn’t even get down the road and they called to increase what they wanted to do to $150. I reluctantly agreed. A few days later I was told I had broken spokes which wound cost another $20. The way this repair grew from $100 to almost $200 was frustrating. In the end the wheel and spokes were fixed for about $60. The creeping cost made me uneasy as I never knew what the final bill was going to be. Setting a scope of work and price is integral to good customer service.
Service was fast and friendly.
I ordered my bike direct thru Trek and had it shipped to the Cahaba Heights location. It arrived on 7/27. I called Cahaba Heights on 7/27 and asked when the assembly could take place. They said it would be later in the day but maybe Friday. They called me back a bit later and said it would be sometime Friday or first thing Saturday morning. No worries. I called first thing Saturday morning and was told it would be Monday or Tuesday that assembly could take place. Really? I called the Homewood location and asked if they had availability to assemble it that morning. They said if I got it there soon they could take care of it. I called Cahaba Heights back and let them know I would be coming to pick it up and take it to Homewood. That was all fine and understandable although I was a bit frustrated with the repeated delay.
Once I got to Homewood, they asked me if Cahaba Heights had quoted me a price for assembly. I said "no" and "I assumed if it was ordered via Trek and shipped to the store, assembly was included". Chris, the service manager said he would waive the assembly fee. My issue with this is Trek's website says delivery to a authorized retailer is free and includes free assembly. Had I not pushed back, I would likely have had to pay for an assembly I had no obligation to pay. I wonder how many people end up paying for assembly when Cahaba Cycles is likely required to provide free assembly per their contract with Trek.
This may seem minor, but it struck me as a bit underhanded and made me skeptical of other practices they may engage in.
The staff at CC are knowledgeable and friendly in all aspects of cycling.
Very friendly and helpful
After pinching a tire on my daily ride yesterday, I took my bike to Cahaba Cycles (Trussville) and they quickly had it changed and ready to go within minutes. And I enjoyed the bike chat with Jeremy and friendly help. I'd recommend this shop to anyone needing bike service.
Staff members are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, and the $20 off that was offered really helps!.
Staff is welcoming & knowledgeable. Wide variety of bikes and accessories. Well-run shop. Wish there were lots more e-trikes and accessories...
As always, Cahaba Cycles in Trussville is a friendly place with an awesome staff to help make the bike buying experience easy and fun. I just purchased a new Trek and Jeremy had a wide selection of bikes and had a bike sent to the store so I could feel the different sizes and platforms so that I got a side by side comparison.
Virginia was most helpful and patient, I left feeling I had made a new friend in the bike world.
Variety and the opportunity to test ride to insure proper fit.

Great staff! Everyone was very friendly and helpful
