I thought Mike B - I think that’s his name - he helped me with a bike trainer - was excellent. Very knowledgeable and patient. I think the trainer is less expensive online but I’m happy to support a small brick and mortar local business.
Very friendly service and great choice of bike stuff !
My experience with them was very good. Their energy is very calm and collective. I recommend this store for all your bicycle needs.
Recently purchased a bike for my 8 year old and he totally loves it!
The best store in nyc old school
Your workers were friendly and knowledgeable
friendly, prompt. Thank you for increasing your open hours
Great variety and customer service!
i like bikes
It was wonderful to interact with an attentive staff. The woman who helped me most directly made me feel welcome a d at ease - that isn't always true for me in bike stores as a 67 year old woman. Other staff also pitched in to help out. A fine experience.
I also appreciated that the staff person recognized my bike and reminded me that I was entitled to free brake and gear check up, which was done on the spot. Thanks so much.
Friendly, efficient, helpful
Local business. COVID safety. Perfect helmet for my two year old daughter. Proud to carry on the Transportation Alternative tradition!
I really appreciated the honesty and helpfulness of your staff. I asked for an annual tune-up but they said all I needed was a few quick adjustments. I will definitely be bringing you my business in future because I know I can trust the people who work there. Thanks!
Matt was amazing. He answered all my questions about buying the best bike for me. I probably asked the same question 3 or 4 times and Matt had all the patience in the world. He was respectful, extremely knowledgeable and an all around terrific human being.
I highly recommend Bicycle Habitat and especially Matt.
Also, Matt was Covid sensitve and wore his mask always.
I called to arrange a visit with a young woman. She was very helpful, upbeat. She said to call in advance so the bike would be on s trainer when I arrived. I did just that. The bike wasn't set up and the sales crew didn't spent much time talking about the bike. As I was getting my reserve $50 back, about to walk out the door one salesman said to the salesman I was working with, does he want the bike on a trainer. At that point I was ready to leave, disappointed in the experience.
The store wasn't crowded, if it was I would understand not having much time. Especially in such a small store.
I had a quick service on my 2 year old bike I bought from BH, an adjustment on the crank set. 15 min wait. Very friendly and knowledge help. Only thing is I wasn't sure if there would be charge before he started. When he came back outside with the finished bike, I had to prompt him if there was charge. And there was. Reasonable but a surprise none the less.
Your staff doesn't have that nasty hipster attitude common in bike shops and coffee shops.
Best customer service. Very professional and knowledgeable.
Service was excellent and professional. Staff are attentive and pleasant.
I ordered a bike online and requested it be shipped to the store. My bike was ready the day I was told it would be. Very happy with bicycle habitat.
Everyone that I dealt with was so genuinely friendly and helpful. No one was condescending or snobby. I’ve already told several people that it’s the best bike shop I’ve ever been to.
considdered service and reccomendations- whether a tiny nozzle adaptor or a whole bike
Friendly, knowledgeable, skilled staff
Fantastic service! I went in for a slow leak in my back rear tire and I left with a pair of cycling shoes ! Thank you! I was in and out in less than 15 minutes.
You are the kindest and most helpful bike people, THANK YOU!
I just bought my bike at Bicycle Habitat and the service was terrific. I also can get my gears and brakes adjusted should I need it. i would recommend this store to anyone.

Great service. Thanks very much. Will be back.

My shopping experience was the platonic ideal of a neighborhood bike store. People were friendly, helpful, approachable, efficient, and pleasant. For those of us who are self-loathing, there’s something emotionally satisfying about looking at racing frames at R&A and enduring the withering scorn of the salespeople there, but in this case — where I simply wanted to buy a bicycle for my 10-year-old son — bicycle habitat was utterly perfect.
I have been a bicycle habitat customer for years, and have normally been really pleased with the quality of products and service. One reason I've purchased bikes for myself and daughter at BH is that your company offers free brake and gear checks. Yesterday I came in for such a check. About three minutes after my bike was taken in, a worker came out and told me I needed to pay a $45 "quick check-up" fee, even though all I asked for was to have my brakes and gears looked at. I was told the worker saw something that required additional work, making the $45 fee necessary, and that it would take about 20 minutes to service my bike. At that time, I indicated I needed a new water-bottle holder, and was invited into the store to see the items on sale. When I entered the store, my bike was not being serviced, and I assumed I was next on line. I quickly browsed and agreed to purchase a water bottle holder and headband, and then asked if I should wait outside while my bike was being serviced. The worker said they were already done -- that they had tended to my bike during the three minutes I was initially waiting outside. There is absolutely no way that BH did anything other than a quick break check, yet I was nickel-and-dimed for $45 on the premise that some more invasive checkup was done. I'm really upset that I was charged $45 for 3 minutes of work -- which was supposed to be free under the BH offering. There is a very good chance I've bought my last bike from BH, but would welcome the opportunity to speak with a manager.

AMAZING STAFF. They are so patient, helpful and knowledgeable. I really appreciate how they help me pick the right bike for me. They do everything so on time and professional.
Thank you ALL.
