How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

Last week's cleaning was very poor. I called to voice my opinion and another maid was sent out to finish the job that the original maid started, making it inconvenient for me to have someone there to point out the discrepancies to the second maid. I value my time and don't like spending it on incompetence. Just not happy with the overall product.

What could we do to improve?

I really don't specifically have recommendations for improvement. I would like to have a consistent crew working and if the same people will not be coming out then a phone call or email would be helpful. I also would like a consistent arrival time frame. This is very important for scheduling. These suggestions are not factors that would keep us from recommending your service. If someone asked we would recommend, but we are not at the point where we would be volunteering the information. This is more because we prefer to not volunteer that we have a cleaning service. Although its my first time giving you feed back, but we have had to go behind to clean and sweep after your people have come. Judy and her partner have been great but today the first floor bathroom had to be cleaned over again along with kitchen; and this has happen a few times.

There are some issues with consistency in the cleaning, and if the homeowner has a particular requedt for the cleaning-- aka the kitchen floor needs a good clean- not sure how that works into the Merry Maid's cleaning for that house

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

Job was too big for the two girls sent out - a cleaning of an entire empty house - it took almost 4 hours with some parts of the job not completed (walls as stated in the pre-agreement, downstairs family room floor not even swept). After calling the office, I was given a reduction of the price (a definite plus....). The next day after closer inspection of the home (I had had to leave immediately after the girls had left and did not notice these right away), I found a window blind that was no longer working and a radiator plate in the upstairs bathroom that was missing it's two side connecting pieces (WHY these were now both missing, Lord knows...don't even have a clue how to replace them!). In short, I could not recommend the service with any confidence - I place much of the "blame" on the lady who scouted the job not realizing the scope.....

In fairness, the girls sent did work the full time and parts of the house were done well.

We had hired Merry Maids for a Move Out Cleaning. A salesperson came to the home and walked through with me to discuss what would be done. Unfortunately, the cleaning did not reflect what was on the sheet that I signed. An entire floor was missed-the basement was not touched. And I had asked to have the refrigerator cleaned which she made note of on the sheet I signed- this was not done either. When I came that afternoon to inspect the cleaning before walking through with the landlord, I discovered these things were not done. I immediately called Merry Maids and left a message to let them know and then had to clean what had not been done myself. I never got a return phone call from anyone and they charged my card for the full amount a few days later. A week later I sent an email to the salesperson to let her know. She responded right away that she was sorry and that someone would be following up. I am still waiting.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

The last two girls who came didn't even do two of the rooms (the others always vacuum my office and clean the den, make the bed in my bedroom - these last two didnt so I called and the good thing was they came back and finished some of it, although they still didn't clean the windowsills. Not very thorough. Prefer the ones who came before , have to look up their names.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

The first time I hired Merry Maids was to clean my cottage rental in Marshfield on Saturday July 28, because I was planning to be out of town and needed someone to turn the house over in three hours, from 11 - 2:00 p.m. The long time summer tenants moved in that afternoon and contacted me immediately about the condition of the house. As my tenant said, the house was not in acceptable shape to rent and the family was very disappointed. They contacted me to say the cottage was not up to the standards of previous years. The main complaint was the kitchen and floors, which was something I stressed in the personal meeting with Lisa Morganelli on July 26.

Althoug Lisa was very professional, and took notes during our meeting, the company called twice to confirm the time and during each call to me including the day before, the Merry Maid rep had the time of arrival wrong. Also, I requested on three occasions that the used linens be dropped off at Jack's Laundry at the end of the street under our account name of Spencer. Like the misunderstanding of the time the cottage would be open to clean, this was also never recorded accurately and needed to be corrected several times. The next week when I returned to pick up the linens they were under a different name. Yes, I identified the linens and picked them up, no big deal, however, what happened to the instructions, of the time, the tasks and what to do with the laundry? When I complainted, Merry Maids send Tammy and Kaitryn to my cottage the following Saturday, August 4th to redo the kitchen and the floors. That time I arrived after they left to find a dirty coffee pot on the dirty stove and the floor still not clean. What did these two Merry Maids do?

I would never use Merry Maids again or recommend them to anyone that asked.

What could we do to improve?

Attention to detail. I've expressed that dog hair is the most important thing to take care of when cleaning my house. Sometimes it is done thoroughly and sometimes areas are missed, or tables are not wiped down. There have been times that fresh trash bags have not been placed in bins. It's important to make sure nothing has been overlooked.

Cleanings are OK but just surface wiping, the floor could be better if sponge soap and water and bleach used...when specialty areas like window blinds and ceiling fans are checked off as done sometimes they are not

Communication. The woman who came out and priced my service was different than the person who came to pick up the key. I also have not heard from the person who priced my service and I think a follow up would have been nice.

There were actually three different proposals submitted. The workers were totally confused when they arrived. Nothing was on the sheet that I discussed with Alice. Not well organized. The cleaning was not satisfactory either.

Make sure the cleaners carryover the same tasks each service. Check with them to make sure the proper rooms were fully cleaned before leaving the house.

What do you like about our services and the products used in your home?

The service is in general very good. The team arrives on time and finish quickly without sacrificing quality of work.
I like attention to details like making the beds and arranging towels in the bathrooms.
The products used seam to be of good quality and used sparingly, so no chemical smell remains when we get home later in the day.
I recommend Merry Maids to everyone who needs help with cleaning their house.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

I was asked to check over and make sure everything looked good. I did a quick check (which I was very uncomfortable doing) and on the surface everything seemed fine. The next day I notice dust still on the walls and ceilings. The toilet upstairs wasn't completely clean. The appointment time was mixed up. I scheduled a 9 -12 appt and the cleaners didn't come until 1:30 and didn't realize that I was a morning appointment. I had to sit outside with my children (who were home from school at 3:00) until everything was done. I don't usually have people clean my house, but was having a party. I spent a lot of money for Merry Maids to come out because everyone said that you would do a great job. I am very disappointed with how the house came out. I feel that I overpaid since I have very little furniture, no carpets, no "nick nacks" and was charged extra for my animals. I will never use Merry Maids again. All the women that came to my party knew I was having my house cleaned by Merry Maids. They will not be using you either. The only way you could make it up to me is by credited me for half of what I paid.
