I recently purchased a chain guard for my Electra. Who ever shipped it sent it in the original packaging. Received item damaged. There was no padding or protective wrapping! This is not what you do. I repaired the damaged part, and installed it.
Quality control of the shipping department is vital. Moneys lost due to returns and reshipping can be avoided by simply having the forethought of treating the item as if were your own!
Instead of pulling it from stock, and slapping a label on it.
If by chance this item is manufactured and sent from a contracted supplier then a simple inspection of the companies procedures is warranted.

I bought my son's mountain bike at the store. They were very helpful. When I asked for a replacement strap for my Bontrager light, one of the staff brought in a replacement they had in their home which was super nice of them. For reasons like this I will be buying my next bike at this store because the staff care about their customers ability to enjoy cycling to the max.

The customer phone support was a huge blessing to me. I bought my first road-style bike and had some sizing issues but the support team took plenty of time to explain everything and help me through it. People even helped me pick out my accessories! Also, the return policy came in extremely helpful as I had to return two bikes, but the one I have now is perfect. I cannot say enough good about my experience with Trek.
