Put my new Trwk bike together perfectly and had a good chat with a a few guys at the store regarding tail lights, chain lube etc.
I bought a gift card there for my sister, who loves your shop. It's her and her husband's go-to for anything bike-related.

I came in for a tune up and ended up getting a new bike rack. The sales associate helped me quickly find what I needed and even helped me install it on my car. I’m a mom with two boys and it would have taken me a long time to figure it out and have the time to do it. He was patient, taught me how to do it, and set it all up for me. That’s what customer service is all about and it’s a forgotten art. There are lots of bike shops around, but nothing quite like Helens. Thanks!

Brought my bike in for a diagnostic work up first thing upon store opening and a fix/Upgrade. There was very little communication upon drop off and I felt like maybe I should check in at the end of the day to see if the diagnosis had been made. Nobody knew anything about my bike and told me they weren’t sure when they’d even have time to look at it. It all felt very dismissive and like they were so busy they didn’t care about my bike. So I asked if they had an estimate regarding when they’d be able to at least plug the bike into a computer and diagnose it. Nobody had any idea. So I drove across town and picked up the bike. I’d rather bring it to someone that values me

I love your store and your staff has always been super helpful and very friendly. Specifically, I recently had a great experience with Wilbur who went to great lengths to diagnose and fix an annoying noise issue. I wish I knew the names of the other mechanics bc they're honestly all great, I've never had a bad experience. In sales, Ian and Monty have also been very helpful. Your cashier (apologies for not knowing her name) is also wonderful and very friendly. Again, I've never had a bad experience in your store. Thanks so much for everything!

Rented a road bike for a day. It was great all around. Bike was just what I needed; staff were super friendly and they had great comments on the route that I did. I will definitely recommend others check out Helen's if they are in Santa Monica and looking for bike rental or other service.
When someone says they want it quickly and are willing to pay for it DON’t ship it USPS.
The guys in the service department are busy, but they take time to listen and give useful feedback. Good communication and reliable work makes Helen's the right place to go.
brought my pedal-assist Trek in because my right lever/back brake were not working after i changed the tire on my own. asked the service person to fix and also check to make sure that i put the tire back on correctly, etc. dropped bike off at 1115am and confirmed that it would be done by end of day. no text, stopped by after work at 545pm and bike was not ready. came back the next day at lunch and it was just air in the brake line, easy fix, and service guy said he checked the back tire and i did a good job changing it and putting it back on. No issues. Rode the bike a half mile back to my office. At 6pm when I came out to ride home, back tire flat. Just really disappointed overall considered Helen's is THE bike shop on the westside. now i have to find a new place to fix my flat tire.
Monty was very helpful and patient with us while we were getting a bike to replace my daughter’s recently stolen one. He made excellent recommendations and was there to walk us through the entire purchase.
We are a McKinley Elementary School family and deeply appreciate how Jay/Helen’s donates a bike to our biggest fundraising event every year. It really helps us out, and I will always be a loyal Helen’s customer because of the community support you all have shown.
