Service staff are the best and also friendly!
Brought my bike in for service with one specific item that needed attention-I think it is called the "head set". This is an area that vibrated and rattled while using the front brakes. I know it was looked at and something was done. What, I don't know. It would have been nice to know what was done. My failure is that I failed to ask when picking up my bike as it still vibrates but not as much as before.
Otherwise the bike was presented back to me clean and in good working condition after it was serviced.
Great selection of Trek bikes. Greg was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and guided us on what to get without being pushy. Great experience in the store and highly recommend!
This is the second time that I have been in for service, the same person who tries to sell me the most expensive things and tells me it is going to take a long time. He is rather direct about telling me this is what I need and this is how long it will take. For example I called last week and asked how long it might take to re-grip the person on the phone said about 20min give or take depending on how busy. I took it in (this was a Thursday mid morning) the service guy said "will you leave it for the weekend?" then he got some grip tape and told me that they would be using this tape. I don't know any different, but I did see on the wall he went to that there are a few so I asked out of curiosity if there are different kinds (I might like to have a lot of padding) and he said sure, he had pulled the most expensive one then reverted to the cheapest one and said "well if you use gloves you only need this one really". So why did you suggest the other? When I brought my bike in just for a general service, same guy told me I needed an ultra tune up - I wasn't sure why, so I asked and he said "well you can have whatever you want but it is going to take a week." Its unfortunate, but there are so many nice folks that work there, when I was picking up my bike after the tune up one guy (tall) noticed my seat and suggested he adjust it a little, he explained why, super nice! When I got my grips another guy noticed that there was a noise as a result of the valve on my tire - fixed it, I was happy to pay for that and appreciated him noticing! So thank you for the nice consultative folks at Helens!
I was a customer at Helen's for a long time while living in LA. I've since moved away from the area but was recently back in town visiting. I brought my bike but forgot my di2 charger. The shop was cool enough to let me charge the battery in the shop so I didn't have to spend $100 on a new one. But of course I ended up buying a bunch of other stuff while I was waiting for it to charge, so well played by the shop!
Wow!! What an awesome bike shop! I was impressed with the knowledgeable staff and the variety of bicycles on sale. The manager, Daniel was so helpful and easy to work with and helped me so much. I thank Daniel for going out of his way to help me!!! So I highly recommend him to take care of any of your issues. The head mechanic is also very knowledgeable; between the two of them, they are the best of all the shops I have been to. They are the reason I go there for all my needs.
