Highly knowledgeable employees. Greg Elgin, one of the shop's managers, is consistently helpful, always has informed recommendations, and is always professional and highly responsive. He is always willing to go the extra mile to serve his customers. Great shop.
Courtesy of staff. Some are outstanding, others are rather antagonistic, especially if you go up to the top floor and browse the most high-end bicycles! My father and I had particularly uncomfortable exchange with one of the staff, whom is still working at the Santa Monica facility, that was nothing short of discourteous and judgemental.

Testing the bike out before purchasing, the Santa Monica location is lucky to have the dead end street right next to it!! Quickly added a quick stand at no extra cost.

My brother sent me to Helen’s where’s he’s bought bikes and repairs for over 15 yrs.
I was hit by a truck while riding a Trek Rockhopper. I was ok, just bruised but nothing broken.
I went yesterday and was treated like a king. The salesperson really listened to my needs and the fact I wanted something lighter but a Trek. He picked one out that was perfect for me. The Trek Verza 2. I had some modifications and extra things I bought to enhance the bike. Front wheel comes off very easily to transport to ride with friends anywhere. He said I can come by anytime for consultations, a glitch or repair.
There’s also a great bike path from the shop to the beach I’ll be riding.
Don’t waste your time with other shops.
Outstanding expertise and helpfulness of Wilbur the manager of your Service Department. He can creatively fix anything. He also has a vast knowledge of your products.

I am a first time bicycle buyer, and Adrian made me feel comfortable. I felt comfortable asking questions, and ended up with a bike I love.
1. I dropped off my bike on a Saturday. I was told I would receive a call on Tuesday (I did not). I called again on Wednesday and was told someone would take a look at my bike and give me a call back (I did not). I called again on Friday and was told someone would check up on my bike and would call me in a few minutes (it did not happen). I finally had to call again, only to understand that a repair was not possible because Helen's didn't have the spare part.
2. When I got back home, I realized that the cap of my gear charger was missing.

Audrey was wonderful! As a first time buyer my experience very memorable. Audrey helped answer all my questions and was very comforting when teaching me how to change gears on my road bike. I would also like to thank Ernesto with his help and teaching me how to remove my front wheel. Wonderful experience and I’m very happy thank you guys!

Excellent service from Eric Rodas, an excellent bike mechanic.
But, you run the store like this is smallpox or the black plague--lighten up a little.
The covid 19 is an extremely contagious virus, but death rate not much different than the common flu--it is true that elderly and ill people are more at serious risk of severe infection and death, and younger patients with immuno compromised conditions (who are at higher risk from other diseases, viruses, bacterial infections, etc.
That includes diabetics, severe asthmatics, cancer survivors who have had chemo, radiation, etc., and anyone with a compromised or over reactive immune system.
And the death rates hugely inflated from the beginning.
I speak to nurses and doctors who work in the hospitals, and I hear what's really going on first hand, not after the news has filtered everything.
And some of your help is good, but some of them--i don't know where you find these people.
I would never hire some of them to work in sales.

Very fast and friendly service

I met two different people in the store, on two different visits: Seth and Greg. Both were super patient and helpful with all my questions. I never felt rushed or patronized. I only felt heard and respected.
My daughter got to try out a bike and Greg cut the seat down for her. Then I tried out a bike and LOVED it. Greg then helped me get both bikes (my daughter's, with a new seat, and my new bike) onto the bike rack on my car.
Very positive experience. Looking forward to getting my daughter her bike, when it arrives.
