Garrett was wonderful and made our experience so much fun. I love my new bike. Went on a 6 mile ride today to break it in.
Being fairly new to the Santa Monica area, my wife and her family have grown up here and definitely highly recommended Helen's cycles. They did not disappoint and were very helpful in recommending the appropriate bike, size, and all the accessories that I would possibly need. They were very quick and efficient, and got my bike put together and I greatly appreciate their servicing and their complimentary maintenance for the first year. Would definitely recommend to anyone that's interested in bicycles for any age and any use.

Great customer service!
Helpful- kind- great memory of customers and services given. Special thanks to Leo!
Great inventory and service!
I brought my bike in on Friday 6/25 for an “Ultra Tune Up” and was told it would be done on Saturday. I asked if I could pick it up on Sunday and was told yes. Went by Sunday and it wasn’t ready. Was told the service department would get right on it. Called Wednesday, still not done. Was told they would look into it and call me. I called again at 4 pm Thursday and my bike was done. Yay! When I talked to Wilbur, Mike, or Monte…they all thought I had at least 2 bikes in the shop and as many as 3 bikes…? One that dated back to a bike I bought over a decade ago. I had only brought in ONE bike. I made that clear with each of them. (They were all very nice). Then when I go to pay, my service slip is charging me $200 plus for 2 bikes which I didn’t understand because the charge should have been $160 for ONE “Ultra Tuneup “. Mike overheard my confusion with the cashier, and changed my bill to $100. I thought he was discounting me for my troubles with Helen’s. I am delighted. I just looked closer at my receipt and now realize that I wasn’t being compensated for the sloppy business practice, but was being charged for a Basic Tuneup, because I got a Basic Tuneup and I requested an ULTRA TUNE UP”. I feel like I was jacked around for a week and never got what I came in for!
**I want to bring my ONE bicycle in and have an ULTRA TUNE UP, and just pay the difference in price. Thank you!
Very polite and professional.
Most reliable & efficient service. Even during difficult times (during covid) their service didn't disappoint. I got all my 4 bikes and all my cycle shoes from Helens and they were always there for any maintenance needed.
Your service repair manager Wilbur is outstanding. I left my bike for a few days and he turned my Trek into a bike that is better than when it was new. He’s always helpful and has a sharp eye for safety and catching problem parts that could cause injury.
Still grossed out by the men with guns in your roof after the riots.
Great service. 400 bicycles waiting for repair. People trust their bicycles with Helen's.
Fantastic Staff! Very helpful. Just purchased my 4th bike from I Martin and Helen's.
Great service and everyone responded to all my questions in a timely manner.
Knowledgeable staff. Great service!
I came to your store because of your large inventory of bikes and have been around forever. I came into your store specially looking for a hybrid bike. I was greeted my Mario and he immediately helped me out with what I was looking for. Mario was forthright with everything including the low inventory of certain bikes due to the Covid situation. Inspite of that I was able to find a bike to my liking. I took it out for a test spin and was immediately sold on it. Mario was perfect through the entire buying process including the guys who tuned up the bike before I took it home . Thank you to Mario and everybody at Helen’s Manhattan Beach!
Helen's Cycles was the only source in the U.S. that I could find for a particular type of tire. I had a number of questions, which were answered by their representative quickly and completely.
I have been going to Helen's Cycle for past 25 years and their services are continuosly excellent.
Personal attention, friendly, reliable... local.
The employees are amazing! They know their stuff and make great recommendations bad on customer needs. I've learned about biking because of the staff.
I was a walk in customer who needed a quick check on the brakes/gears, and the guy who helped me checked it for free!
Every single person I spoke with there was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and when they told me they would call, they did.
I would 100% work with them again!
Speedy service and professionalism.
Seth was solid help.
I appreciate the service Seth!

You made it so easy! I felt we were guided through the process with experience and kindness.
We are new to the area and I am looking for a shop to work with. This was my first time using Helen’s service department and I was very impressed and happy with their work. I’ll be back.
It would have been nice to get a call on Wednesday when the bikes were due. I ended up calling on Friday and found out they were ready. The work done was great though.
Edgar is the best!
After 6 weeks, I was told my bike was ready. I came to a bike that wasn’t fully fixed. I got an estimate for a new fork; but the fork hadn’t been replaced and was clearly still bent. After I asked to talk to a mechanic (after being told to go pay for it to close the order), I was told that they were “just waiting for the fork” that would come in about 2 weeks. Sure... 4 weeks later, I was told it was ready. The fork had been swapped, but the steer tube wasn’t cut to match the height of the previous one, so it’s now too tall by an inch, but this has been so frustrating that I don’t want to come back to ask about it. And I don’t understand how that happened, but my rear tire was seriously damaged while my bike was in the shop. The mechanic apologized and gave me a replacement tire, which I appreciate, but it’s a lower quality than what I usually ride, and nothing would have been done if I didn’t point it out, so it’s still a bit of a bummer. I came to Helen’s because I live nearby and would like to support my local shop, but this experience will definitely keep me away from the shop, along with anyone I’ve already mentioned this experience to.
Maybe it was bad luck, maybe I was just assigned to an inexperienced mechanic, maybe bikes that are worth less than $2k aren’t ever well taken care of at this shop. I don’t know, but at this point, I might as well just go to REI.
If you don’t have the bandwidth to take on a repair, please don’t say you do and then do a terrible job; just be honest about it, thanks.

Staff are always so friendly and helpful. My go to bike store in LA
