We purchased two bikes
I've been a Helen's customer for 25+ years. I've always been satisfied with the products, and staff most of whom are bicycle riders. You have good, quality products for the whole family. Your repair service is an important adjunct to the process.

Price gouging. This part was $100 over what others such as Jenson normally charge
I purchased my bike online and had it shipped to me, so I purchased it without being able to inspect it. Overall I am happy with the bike, but a little disappointed that is has some cosmetic damage, and it was missing all the documentation from the manufacturer.
The warranty card and owner's manual were not included with the bike.
Also, there are several small areas on the top of the frame where the bike was damaged prior to shipping. This damage includes small gouges in the frame so that not only is the paint chipped, but also there are pock marks in the frame. These are small (1/8 inch each), but in a very visible spot.
This damage covered with protective wrap that was used in shipping, so I see no way that the damage was done during the shipping process. It appears that the bike was already assembled in the store, then repackaged when it was shipped to me. Except for the box, the packaging / wrap is not the same as what the manufacturer uses. This is what makes me believe the bike was damaged prior to shipping, then sent to me despite the damage.
Again minor, but some of the paint has been scraped off of the black spokes. This may have occurred during shipping. One of the crank shafts appears to have been rubbing against the spokes of the front wheel because of how the bike was packed.
I am happy to keep the bike, especially right now when bikes are hard to get, but I would have appreciated a little head's up that this particular model has some minor cosmetic damage and possibly a small discount that would have also helped me defray some of the shipping cost.
Lots of. Ike shops around but I like the idea that when my bikes in for service it’s always ready before or on time. So appreciate I Martin supporting the AIDS Life Cycle for so any years.
A simple mistake of not changing the pedals to the correct type was irritating to me. That was the initial reason to come in Also I approved a tuneup. They did not notice, or adjust, the not squared off handlebars to the front wheel. Maybe the shop is too busy.
And Michael helped with the pedal issue.
I will return, but hesitant if I have a high end bicycle needing tuneup.
Bought my first road racing bike from Helen Throckmorton at Helen's Cycles in 1960. Bought my first electric mountain bike from Mike at Helen's Cycles this week. Moving to San Diego may have ahd something to do with that 61 year gap in purchases! Quality bikes are scarce currently but what I was searching for was here, so it was well worth the trip. Mike\ was a pleasure to have met and helped me get acquainted with the bike before seeing me off on my excursion back south.
Helen's Cycles was amazing! I was initially going in between 2 bikes, so I bought one, but then shortly after, decided I wanted the other. Greg and their team were super helpful with switching me out to the bike I wanted, no questions asked. Would definitely recommend - their service was great and very helpful.

Eric did an outstanding job as my salesperson! He was friendly, informative, and helpful. He showed me different models of the bike I was interested in, helped adjust the seat height, and allowed for a test ride. When I had a small issue with the cosmetic condition of one bike, he unhesitatingly found another that was perfect. He advised me about alternative tires for the bike and showed me how to remove the front wheel. He also helped me load the two bikes I purchased into my vehicle. If I come back to Helen's to shop for another bike, I will definitely ask for Eric.
Great guidance in helping me select the right bike
I was upset that after specifically asking for a chain replacement and cassette check before dropping my bike off, I still had to remind Helens day of pick up to replace my chain. Additionally when I got my bike back and started riding, my front brakes are making a really loud noise whenever I use them. This also isn’t the first time my brakes were put on incorrectly. It feels like after spending 5 years with Helens, buying this bike from you guys, and consistently coming back for repairs, bike parts, and accessories the quality of customer care has really gone down. I don’t really trust Helens to take care of my bike anymore and I’m wasting my time and money here.
