Staff was professional and pleasant. Estimate was accurate. Service was quick and well done.
You gotta fix the outdoor line situation. We are two years into the pandemic, every other store has returned to allowing foot traffic inside. Just require masks.
If you need to keep lines outside, make a fast track for simple needs. It’s really frustrating when you just need to buy a product you know is in stock but are stuck standing behind two bike fixes/issues.
Fantastic team, great selection and helpful advice for riders of all levels.
Victor was great. Even though it was crowded, he took the time to answer all my questions and set me up with a test ride, and then also recommend a different bike after hearing what I liked and didn’t like about the bike.
Liddy spent a LOT of time with us and put us in the right bike.
Took time to find a good fit, and the correct rack, for my sonsbike.
Stopped by after a crash and the mechanic was more than wiling to check out my bike. I was concerned I could have cracked frame. He did find wheels off center and the stem to be loose. Asked to if I was ok. Just great service!!
I really like the new bike! You were all very helpful without being overbearing.....thank you for that!
Very helpful and focused staffing
It was my first time buying a carbon frame bike, and the employees here made things so easy and were an absolute pleasure. Will be coming back and would recommend Bicycle Habitat - Chelsea to everyone of all experience levels.
The mechanics are super nice, professional, and very fast. I've taken both my bikes there from routine maintenance to crash repairs and I'm always amazed what great work they do and how fast it gets done.
Taylor, the mechanic, was beyond friendly, helpful, and encouraging. Sorry I didn't get person at cashier's name, but equally welcome and helpful.
The staff was really great - answered a lot of my questions, let me test ride the bike I was interested in, and gave me a lot of recommendations.
Focussed attention from start to finish. Staff was very knowledgable, extremely patient and helpful. I am thrilled with my new bike!
Friendly shop, well stocked, no bike bro attitude. What's not to like?
Great products & service
The team was incredibly helpful and answered my questions on topics from bike shorts to grips. It's also really helpful to have femmes on staff so it doesn't feel intimidating.
Knowledge and flexibility of mechanics. Some stuff just doesn't fit the mold and you might need to be creative with solutions. Thanks guys.
I found Bicycle Habitat on the Trek website, because it had a Trek FX1 in stock. Adam was extremely helpful, both on the phone and in person, and patiently helped me find the right size bike and the right bike (I ended up getting a Verve 2 step through). This took two visits and several test rides. I also was given a $20 discount to take into account the price that was shown on the Trek website, which I appreciated. All good so far. At this point I would have recommended Bicycle Habitat to anyone who asked.
But yesterday, when I came in to pick up the bike, things fell apart. I test rode the bike and said I'd take it. I asked Adam if he could have the mechanic install some cage pedals I brought with me. He said sure, although he tried to persuade me to buy some pedals instead. Then a $10.00 charge for this appeared on the bill. I said, you're going to charge me for swapping the pedals (on a $750 purchase)? He said, "you didn't buy the pedals here." The mechanic held on to the pedals that came with the bike, so I had to ask for those back. And I had to come back into the store to get the two tubes I bought.
If Adam had told me there would be a charge for swapping the pedals I would have (grudgingly) swapped them myself. Charging a customer for a small thing like that as part of a $750 purchase seems shortsighted and unwise. Unfortunately, it is all I'll remember of the experience.
The staff is very knowledgeable and helpfull. I was not happy about the seemingly nickel and diming approach each time I asked about such things as kickstands and fenders for a new $1,600 base price bike I purchased. Rasied the price slightly and add those features in, and if the buyer doesn't want them, give a credit. It would be a much better way then, $20 here and another $20 here.
Great customer service
friendly helpful workers!
Everyone was very knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. Great service, work and sense of community. Keep it up
Great location and trusted mechanics.
Fantastic service all around! Staff was enormously helpful, and I love the bike shoes I ended up with.
great product selection, chillest staff I've ever experienced at a New York City bike shop.
I found exactly what I needed and was guided through the selection process by a friendly, knowledgeable, and unrushed employee. I felt very taken care of! They went out of their way to make sure the shoes I was selecting would be the right fit, and I feel confident I spent money wisely.
