My “ nurse next door” is terrific! She’s good with my dog and very helpful with laundry, meal preparation, showers, and jigsaw puzzles.

What was the biggest reason for giving us this score?

The nurse assigned to me had no idea what to do. I just came home after a major surgery and needed a competent nurse to make sure I’m ok at home. She just sat there and looked at her phone. I asked her to leave after one hour. A complete joke compare to other nursing services I have used.

The carer (Jennifer) is kind, patient, and competent. She is very pleasant and my husband enjoys spending time with her. She is also very helpful to me, by providing both household help and respite. Jennifer is truly helping me to maintain my sanity!

What was the biggest reason for giving us this score?

The first visit went poorly as the nurse seemed ill-equipped to deal with a dementia sufferer. Several basics recommended by the Alz Soc were not followed. I shared my concerns with the nurse at the end of the visit and also sent a memo to the supervisor (?) Marika.
The second visit was much improved - clearly my concerns were heard.
Give us a couple more visits and I hope we'll be up to an 8 or 9.

I appreciate that the mandate to provide help is a large one, larger than what the health authority can provide. This means I can access services like computer assistance, personal care, shopping and doing things that make my life work. The care aides have been unflappable by the the sometimes extreme presentation of my symptoms. They have been kind and adaptable to my needs and I look forward to using your staff as we go forward can time.

All the girls were very capable and nice, but the main girl, Kayla Bradshaw went way above and beyond. She gave my husband her full attention, even though he was very hard of hearing. She always took the time to make sure we understood, and she really cared about him. And me, too. I would certainly recommend a company that hires that quality people. Thank you very much.

The professionalism of the care givers. Almost each one we have had are so friendly, get my husband sat ease and are very knowledgeable. Some good management tips have been welcome.

I am so thankful for the service. However, here are issues I have. It is hard to get updates on my fathers care. I don’t live with him and need to track his progress. He can look well but the care notes tell a different story. It would be nice to have access to an online portal to see what his care is reporting and a place where they can make requests ie. running out of laundry soap, wanting a heat pads etc
Second, we have lost our care designer twice now. First time we were informed but this second time nothing was said. They are hard to get a hold of as it seems they are way over worked. Informing people when their are changes would really help.

Our initial meeting with Marika was great, and I was excited to have NND care for our mother, but they just could deliver what we asked for..
1. We asked for someone with a car. Day 1, caregiver arrived very late by taxi. I understand these things happen.
2. Day 2...caregiver had a car but was not a good match. These things happen.
3. There was a mixup with the dates. I had called and changed the date and somehow that msg wasn’t delivered.
4. This is the dealbreaker: I had asked that no bills go to my mother, only to me. The bills were sent to my mother, not me. This is an added layer of stress on her which we just didn’t need.
