I like working with Zack to find my puchase needs. I bought the new DS3 as it is larger than my old Schwinn. I have osteoarthritis now in my feet and lower back and wanted something that fit better and I believe the DS3 has improved my riding experience.
Had new Dual Sport 3 bike 30 day adjustment performed. Technician who worked on my bike listened and worked to adjust/resolve issues. Shifting is slightly better but the rear derailure still seems a little off, sometimes lagging (delayed timing) in shifting to upper and lower gears when riding. The middle gears shift perfect. Maybe just needs more use to break in or another adjustment, not sure. No complaints about technician... he worked on my bike for quite a while and adjusted the seat and worked on my handlebar noise. If you have any advice please feel free to let me know.
My old Schwinn mountain bike (High Plains I think...) bought around 1987 when I got our of the Navy used to have shift problems. Had a tune up in 2019 closer to where I live for the first time. Had to bring it back for shift issues and the owner told me the technician was supposed to change the cables but did not. She said they stretch over time... after change of cables the shifting is perfect now. I was totally shocked and surprised. Surprisingly, my old Schwinn currently shifts better than my new Trek. Hope more use or the next adjustment will resolve.
