I love the Y. I was brought up as a ,"Y' kid in Upstate, NY. -from nursery school, to after school/evening activities, summer camps, and teen dances. It's saved me! So now, as an adult wanting exercise it is once again back in my life with new programs and I have made some new friends, as a result. Plus, while on vacation I can use the reciprocal arrangement for use out-of -state. I am a big proponent of the YMCA's of America.

It’s convenient, friendly
I just started going to the salem YMCA and staff is extraordinary. They really make the difference. Ridiculously kind and friendly. Helpful as well. I’m ‘gym shy’ which basically means I don’t want to go and get super overwhelmed but the kindness the staff shows makes me SO much more comfortable and actually want to stay and work out.
Also the childcare center open in the mornings now is fabulous. Super happy and welcoming staff.
