There are good classes and nice staff.
In February 2014 Congressman Seth Moulton awarded Pauline Harney a congressional commendation for contributing to the betterment of the Salem community.
Having retired a decade ago, I discovered Pauline's Salem YMCA Monday, Wednesday and Friday aqua fitness class. It continues to significantly increase my quality of life and is the only program I participate in. Highly recommend this welcoming beneficial well attended program.
Great class options and staff at Salem Y are fantastic.

It’s in center of town. I didn’t have to wait for an elliptical.the staff is extremely friendly
YMCA always puts on an amazing program. My children look forward to camp every year and have a great time doing the activities. Couldn't ask for better staff or a better time with the Salem Y!
You keep the children engaged in activities. The staff work extra hard to keep the kids upbeat and happy. There are a ton of activities for the kids to be busy and not bored. Especially at camp harbor quest! They are always doing something to keep the kids engaged
I love the Y Best group of people who play volleyball super fun & like practicing yoga.
The kids club staff is amazing and the swim instructors are fantastic. Crafting a Community reminded me why I love handcrafts. Mat pilates with Gina is so much more than an exercise class that many regulars have been coming back for years. The Salem Y has become an important part of my family’s routine and community.
Super friendly staff, responsive management, lots of value.
Fine trainers. Good members. I’m likely on the older side at 76. Nice balance between challenge and acceptance of what I can do. Friendly group to work out with.
I like the aqua fitness classes
Mi hijo disfruto mucho en el campamento de verano y todas las actividades.me gusto mucho la atención para todos los niños el personal muy bueno.
Helpful staff; good equipment in the exercise room
As a new member, I am impressed by the friendliness of the staff. I met with a personal trainer, and was very pleased with his knowledge of the equipment. He was very helpful and answered any questions that I had. I am also improving with the cleanliness of the Y.
All in all, I am very glad that I joined the Salem Y.

She really enjoyed it and was looking forward to camp every day.
For me, the location is ideal, less than a
five minute walk., so that’s a plus. I’ve belonged for many years and like the ease of using equipment that is easily understood, not all technology is like that. I can breeze in and do my routine quickly and leave or take my time and linger, perhaps interacting briefly with other like minded individuals. It’s a community.
On other days, I may be whimsical and try a yoga or Zumba class. I love the freedom to change my routine, or not. The faces may change over the years but not the ambiance.
It's the ultimate community space. If you like that sort of thing. I like that it doesn't feel like a "health club" for rushed people (there is some of that) but the community programs and the diversity of the space makes it a really great YMCA
The program was very nice and a great opportunity for my child! He absolutely loved waking up and being able to go to this program and was excited to talk about his day every evening after coming home. The activities and the experience for him was overall amazing.
Everyone's helpful, good equipment, classes
Very much a community feel. I use the fitness room and a class. I find them very helpful.
Welcoming environment and lots to do. Help is always available when needed.

Allie and staff are so great with the kids. Excellent communication with parents. Always something fun planned and my child feels safe there
Allie and staff are so great with the kids. Always fun stuff planned for their day. Attentive and great communication with the parents. My son loves it here and will continue coming back!
Well, first my son seems to like going. At first he doesn't like to wake to go school but he like going to camp. And he enjoys the activities and the teacher there. So I appreciate that. Things seems to be very organized.
Is there an after school indoor gym/program he can go to to play basketball and stuff?
