I have great access to all facilities.
Location, clean, pleasant, lots of sides interesting activities to offer, in addition to sport…etc.
I like its flexibility to go to the different locations. Parking downtown a bit harder and should be free for the Y. Enjoy more swimming options maybe around 10 or 11. Thank you
Because its a neighborhood gym and its a great place to support. The more people join and continue to show up for classes, activities or just personal physical and exercise goals. The more likely hood the 2nd oldest Y in the country stays afloat.
Convenient; friendly people; good equipment in the gym.
Easy to get to, a friendly staff and many activities to chose from
My daughter comes home happy, filthy from having played all day and tried new activities, and she’s been making friends, including some from other classes in her grade. She loves exploring at the beach, arts and crafts, the splash pad, and playing Gaga. The only negative is the ice cream truck that insists on parking at the exit at pickup time.
I really appreciate how engaging and well-structured the program is. The variety of activities keeps the kids excited and constantly learning new things. I’ve noticed my daughter comes home talking about her day with so much joy, which shows how much she enjoys being there. I also love how the program focuses on both fun and development — it’s a great balance.
All the programs and activities you provide for children at the summer camp keeps them engaged, gets them to problem solve and work as a team. You guys have them going with different activities and programs all day and my child comes home so happy. She loves the ropes course, playing in the water finding crabs (bringing them home sometimes), gaga ball and so much more.
I like going to Salem because it is smaller and less chaotic than Beverly and Marblehead. The employees are really nice and the instructors are good.
I love going there to exercise because people are helpful and I feel comfortable there.
I use the Salem Y because it is in my neighborhood, and I mostly go for the weight room and sauna. The weight machines are well functionlng, and people are mostly good about cleaning them off. Also, I especially appreciate the fact that members can use the group fitness room when classes are not running. It's nice to have that extra space to stretch out or use the ballet barre! I've also used the pool in the past - which was great. The Salem Y is clean, and staff members are friendly and helpful. Thank you!
Friendly, clean and good communication.
Nice place ; fits my workout needs..
The instructors are great and the lessons seem to be structured in a way that both kids are learning fast!
Me encanta
Because you add new classes and the instructors help and listen to you.
The staff genuinely care about the kids.
My daugter likes doing sports with her camp friends.
The swim instructor’s meet the new swimmer where they are and adapt each lesson accordingly.
Shootouts to Alex and Ollie - they were great!
Miss Jacqui is amazing!
I'm a bit bummed that timing of the Saturday classes changed in Salem, the 9:15 am slot was perfect.
The variety of group exercise classes is incredible, I never get bored!
My child loves his swimming lessons. Alex and Maddie have been great, and we can see both my sons skills and confidence building weekly. When I had a questions about a possible change in registration, the aquatics director took care of it immediately.
On another note, the Kids Club program in Salem is fantastic. Josephine, Jess, and Hailey do an amazing job of engaging with the children and encouraging them to work and play together fairly and with respect. It is a huge relief to know that I can take some time to myself and having no doubts as to the quality of care my child is receiving.
The front desk staff is also impressive. I see them remembering names and preferences, and working to make this a true community.
Diversity of classes and the time offered
My child is very happy and receives great care in the infant/toddler program. We look forward to continuing a relationship with the YMCA as care needs change to preschool and beyond
Friendly staff to welcome me every time i walk in
The exercise classes are amazing (including instructor)
The pool, womens' locker room and bathroom is so clean
The gym/equipment area is to notch
Swim teachers are patient and kind, really good with kids.
The programming at the YMCA after school has been interactive, fun, and educational for my son. He loved going there every day and didn’t want to leave!
My kids have fun while they are learning and getting exercise and making friends. I really appreciated the addition of the Sharks Swim Club for kids who weren't up for the rigor and commitment of the competitive team.
