the ratio of instructor to student.
The way that my children are caring
Love the teachers and all the enrichment
I have been going to the Salem Y for 30 years. It is a real community. I use the fitness center, take spinning classes, use the pool, the Cold Tub, do 2-3 yoga classes a week. I have different friends in each of those places. They provide first jobs to many teenagers. They have great childcare and Summer Camps.
I use the pool water aerobics classes, land Zumba classes, and my favorite- Tanya’s water Zumba dance. The instructors are fabulous, the attendees are friendly in and out of class. I walk, so no trouble, or cost parking, something several people complain about. Very few shower stalls, there’s always a line waiting to shower after the pool. BUT, Salem Y is the only Y in North Shore with a steam room! Several of my friends go JUST for the steam room!
I love the Salem Y because of the instructors, the folks working the front desk, the steam room and able to walk from my home - 5 days a week!
I do attend the Marblehead Y, for Hanna’s class on Tuesdays, and another workout favorite Gus’s class on Sundays. But no steam room, and unable to walk from my home, but lots more showers.
Instructors are fantastic.
Wonderful yoga instructors, clean facilities, and income-based plans
Mind body classes

Love the staff, community of my peers, and the facilities.
I love how the Salem Y is embedded into the city it’s a landmark figuratively and physically.
The coaches have been wonderful! They are all so patient and kind. Thank you Ollie, Julia and Emily!
The structure
I love seeing my children progress with their comfort in the water and the teachers are great at working the kids that have big feelings sometimes.
I would recommend the YMCA membership, as it offers great value and a wide range of benefits. Your membership also allows access to other YMCA locations within the same network. Additionally, if the cost is too high, you may qualify for a discounted rate based on your income. Their team is very helpful with this process, and responses are typically provided the same day. Helene Feeley who has helped me with my membership is very responsive and very helpful always.
It is a welcoming, diverse place that is not over crowded. It is well maintained and workout spaces are appealing.
Fun but safe and organized- positive attitude and Mr. Stuard! And Yashira and Kaitlyn!!

Great staff
Tour was great! Staff is great! Got all my questions answered.
Facility is beautiful, spotless, has everything you could want, and is still being improved and added to.

It's more important as I age.
Now at 84 years old - every little bit helps...
