Friendly, welcoming.
It's a friendly place (starting with the front desk staff)--I feel comfortable there. I find a diverse group of people and feel welcome. The gym doesn't have a competitive vibe. I like my trainer, Thomas.
Great facilities, well organized programs, classes. Look forward to every visit.
Great staff, convenient in the downtown, lots of treadmills
Would love to see a separate women’s weight room with free weights and some machines
Pottery is fun, Dor is an absolute delight!
I love what. The y has offer classes equipment yoga
We like that you have different blocks and different arts and craft choices. In specific blocks they allow you to go into the music room and play different instruments which we found very fun!
Nice staff
I think the activities the program provides are ideal for the age groups
All of the instructors that I have taken a class from or my daughter has taken a class from have been great.
Good value for your money. Diversity of programs. Clean facilities
Our Salem Y has been a great place for a 76-year-old like me to get in a great workout or a decent swim, all followed up by a stint in the sauna or steam room. There's a friendly vibe from the other members but that's overlain by a respect for everyone's privacy. The parking is problem-free when I go --in the earlier side of the day. The staff is helpful and friendly.
Nice comfortable and friendly facility.Very well maintained.
Affordable. Friendly staff. Good range of options of activities.
You should build a new YMCA on the land available in Salem Massachusetts!!!
Agreat place todo a whole lot of positive things for yourself.
Its a great gym. That has rules that are enforced. No cell phones unless you are using for a workout. No powdwer or slamming weights. Staff is friendly and helpful.
I love the Y - the pilates and yoga are my fave. Can't wait for the salt room!
staff is wonderful, pool is available for me to swim laps in the midday, facility as clean and well maintained, convenient location. Usually able to park easily enough.
My granddaughter is in day care and we are very happy with the program, how it’s run and the teachers.
I have been a member for many years, took a lot of Pilates, and barre classes and am now in your Live Strong program
The clients are ordinary people and the staff are very friendly. Very low pressure, homey place.
The hands on approach.
So far so good. As a total newbie to pottery, My first class with Doris the instructor was challenging; but thanks to their kind and very comprehensive teaching process felt very comfortable with learning the new medium and looking forward to my 2nd go
My son loves doing the plays! Jay is great and we could not be happier with the theater programs. It has given my son a creative outlet and has allowed him to meet new people and be part of a team.
Friendly atmosphere
Responsible friendly staff.
It is a great community resource
The teachers! They are the reason the program runs
It's more important as I age.
Now at 84 years old - every little bit helps...

The YMCA is a great place to work out, but that is only a small part of the YMCA membership. Even if you are someone who just comes to work out, there is an ubiquitous feeling of community.
As a member, I seek out the classes and programs the Y offers and love the special programs that they'll try
I have been a member of the YMCA in both New York and MA all my life for one reason or another......there's no place like the YMCA especially the local Salem, MA YMCA since it's my local Y.
The Y offers all the amenities and the feeling of community
