My daughter really enjoys afterschool and I love that they offer childcare on holidays and school vacations
Me gusta todo , sobre todo el cuidado de los niños
The people there are friendly and helpful if you need something or have a question
The program is creative and inclusive and exposes my son to a variety of activities. The staff expresses interest in his development.
YMCA afterschool program is his favorite part of school.
The program is well run and meets all of our expectations.
My daughter never wanted to be picked up ! She loved it so much! Playing with her friends and games playing games with the counselors
Doris is great! Our daughter had a great time
The community
Great pools at all locations, friendly staff. Love the steam room & sauna at Salem locker room
Good
I regularly attend several classes where I love these instructors:
Gus - Pool class on Sunday - he is fabulous!
Beth - Rowing in Salem on Saturday mornings and her weights class on Tuesday nights - Beth is extraordinary!
Tania - Zumba on Wednesdays - she is so fun!
Larry - Spin on Monday nights - he is my favorite spin instructor!
Heather - Barre on Wednesday nights
Michelle - Yoga on Thursday eves
Michael - new spin instructor - I really like too! Lots of great energy!
Staff are friendly, it's community focused and inclusive; membership allows for use of some other Northshore YMCAs; the facilities and equipment are good.
Large choice of programs and location
Excellent trainers, good friends. Lots of diverse opportunities.
I can only recommend Pauline Harney's MWF 8:30 water aerobics class since this is my only involvement for the almost twelve years, since joining the Salem MA YMCA.
This class has changed my physical well-being significantly. Seth Moulton awarded Pauline community recognition to thank her for having an authentic positive impact in so many lives, over four decades.

It’s a great place…welcoming to all!
Because it’s an awesome local gym. They are involved in the community and offer plenty of classes
It’s a safe learning environment. Instructors are great (Ollie is ours) and we enjoy spending our time there.
I live in Marblehead but I go to the Salem YMCA because the people there are way more friendly, even the cleaning staff know my name. I never have to wait for availability in the gym and I can always get a lane in the pool, and if not there is always someone willing to share.
Facility has a lot of different stuff. It's clean. People are friendly.
The Salem Y is a warm friendly place with a lot of offerings. I don’t like big fancy crowded gyms. This Y is just right, a variety of activities that serve multiple age groups and is small enough not to feel cold. I have found every instructor that I have worked with very informative and positive in their instruction and support.
Staff and class offerings
Facilities programs and staff are all top notch and an excellent value.
They take the kids outside which I think is fantastic for the little ones.
I need to contact membership as I am a member of Workbar and there is a 15% discount
I enjoy going to the Y
Great educators and structure
I participate in aqua fitness classes (special shout out to Pauline's wonderful sessions!). In anticipation of upcoming pool closure in Salem (as well as always looking for new options to fit my schedule), I find the web 'indexing of classes, etc to be lacking for this type of search. A limit to 'pool' shows lap swimming and can't find other 'aqua fitness' (or any other useful term) to bring results. I **know keeping a web site up to date is time drag for someone, but would be useful. Thanks for any pointers (and do let us know the dates for Salem pool work!?)
Friendly staff and nice facilities
Friendly
Me gusta mucho el cuidado y la dedicación que tienen con los niños. Siempre salen contentos, hacen actividades divertidas y educativas, y se nota que los atienden con mucho cariño.

Very good
