I even got $25 credit when I shop with sweet pete's next time. I was a bit not satisfied about the order been out of stock when website clearly state they were, but not anymore, I am very happy with how Josh handled it! I like that you're a local shop that's an institution for the neighbourhood. Your staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Most recently your parts/repair team helped me source an obscure 1.5" stem/headset spacer for an old Cannondale that I thought we be a much bigger problem to track down. Couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.

I called in with an issue with my rear derailleur, I was told I could pop in and it could be fixed fairly quickly. I arrived and the gentleman let me know it would be quick, I could take a quick look around the store or I could pop out and they'd text me when it was ready. After 80 minutes I returned to the store and my bike was only just being taken into the shop, I was told it would be quick so I waited. After 30 minutes the gentleman said it was more difficult than indexing my gears and it wouldn't be too much longer. 30 minutes later (after the store was closed) I was told that there was a stripped screw and they had to bend the hanger to get the last gear to engage. This was a temporary fix and a new hanger would be required. My two biggest gripes are 1) don't tell people thing will be quick if they won't be quick. If he just said, it'll take a few hours, come back tomorrow, I would have come back tomorrow or dropped my bike off another day. 2) when they discovered that the issue wouldn't be a quick and cheap indexing of the gears, they should have told me what work was required and how long it would take, then I could have made a decision to replace the hanger or get a temporary fix. Instead I was charged for a bandaid fix and will have to go to pay someone else to replace the hanger. I was so frustrated with wasting over 2 hours of my Friday evening that I just paid for the service I didn't ask for and left.
I've been going to Sweet Pete's since 2007 for repairs, advice and to shop for replacement parts tools and maintenance products and have never had a bad experience. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and I'm usually able to find what I'm looking for. I just with that the shop would stock Oury handle bar grips again. That is my only complaint. Also the counter person who took care of my last repair was very helpful.
Better communication. If you say a couple of days, it should be a couple of days and not a month. When I dropped my bike off, had I known that the parts needed to be ordered and that you had been having difficulty getting some parts in, I would have forgone the replacement. But instead I called every couple of days asking for updates that were just guesses.
