Disappoint is a strong word. But I ordered a set of pedals online which was a very Smooth experience, Brett answered my email promptly and I was notified by text when the pedals arrived - a great experience.
But the in store experience fell flat. When I entered the store I was not great by the staff member behind the counter. I spent a lot of time in the cycling shoe section as I slow needed shoes and no one came over to see if I needed help. I was able to locate the pedals myself and brought them to the counter. The staff member (without acknowledging me) just rang the pedals in and the only verbal interaction was: “that’ll be $223, how would you like to pay?” No discussion about if found everything I was looking for (I hadn’t) or thanking me for my purchase.
I cannot recommend the instore experience as it is not inviting and reflected the common bike store stereotype that the staff are only interested in helping you of they can be bothered or if you look like a cyclist. It certainly wasn’t an experience I get good about spending hundreds of dollars in. I ended up buying the shoes I wanted online.

I want to call out the Service department at Sweet Pete’s (and Shawn Golder in particular), who have been consistently great. I really appreciated that they were willing to squeeze me in for a warranty service on short notice, and they were super friendly and helpful and kept me updated throughout the process. This was easily one of the best and most pleasant service experiences I’ve had at any bike shop. And, as a cherry on top, Shawn even went the extra mile when he noticed a small issue with the brakes that wasn’t part of the work order, and fixed it free of charge. That’s the kind of awesome service that keeps people coming back (I know I will be). Great work, keep it up!

My gears are still not shifting very well. I may call them back to see why this may be the case; the gears may be really low quality, who knows.
Otherwise, as a new customer, I felt they treated me very well. The service was professional and fast. I knew what to expect and the customer service agent helped me cost out what I wanted to do with my bike, which was important as I am on a budget. It was great that they took the time to run through costs with me and the bill was as expected.

I have requested to install a bell on the right handle bar. Unfortunately, it was installed on the left handle bar, so I have to move it to the right on my own. Overall, everything are good and nice.
