I've had my bike serviced and also bought accessories from Velo.
Service has consistently been prompts and reasonably priced. Velo's inventory of parts and accessories is excellent. It's hard to imagine that they wouldn't have what you need, in stock, and also fair priced.
The Velo team is as professional and courteous as anyone could expect and their COVID awareness/retail facility accommodations make a visit to their retail establishment very safe.

On Saturday Sept 5th while riding the Silverado Trail I got a record four flats. I was able to fix 2 then I ran out of stuff. I hitchhiked and got a ride with a great guy in a pickup truck who took me directly to St Helena cyclery. I walked in the shop and it was busy. My first thought was my day is gone since there is no way they will take time but, I was wrong. I was waited on rather quickly and I was told I could wait. The fellow recommended a cafe that was quite good and by the time I had a leisurely lunch the bike was ready. The mechanic not only replaced two tubes and a rim tape he also cleaned the bike which was chain greasy from my tire changes. He also somehow adjusted my rear brake. The rear brake was way more effective after the repair. The price was fair and the service was excellent.

I have an older bike that needed some parts replaced (triple front cogwheels, and chain) to keep it running. As the repair proceeded it was clear that that the bottom bracket also needed to be replaced. I appreciate that I was called to approve the install of the new bottom bracket, which they had in stock. The work was done in a timely manner (same day) and I was very happy with the results. Good service isn't always about selling the customer a new bicycle. Sometimes it's about keeping the customer on the bike he has.

The service is good
The people are friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We purchased a last minute bike for our grandson for his birthday. His bike had been recently stolen. The shop made an extra effort and put the bike together in time for his birthday - 2 days later. This was in spite of the fact that they were extremely busy!!
This is the second bike we have purchased from them. They were always available and helpful when we had to bring the bike in a couple of times over the years for some minor repairs and/or adjustments.

Personal attentive service, Has a “town hub” vibe, definitely the go to place for local cyclists. Fires, blackouts, pandemic ... and they still open their doors. Our town couldn’t do without them.
