Love your friendly staff! Thanks for always taking good care of our bikes!
Friendly and helpful
fast and efficient!
Bicycle Habitat, has been my bike store for two decades. They have provided the friendliest most responsive service for my family's biking needs, whether it's a carbon-fiber road bike for myself, a sturdy hybrid bike for my wife, or youth bikes for my kids. Beyond providing competitive pricing, they always found the right fit for our family's needs.
I just wanted to share some quick feedback. I recently had the situation with the bike that was listed as available, then I was told it would be ready to test in a few days, and then after a week of silence I found out it had actually already been sold. I put down the deposit over the phone in seconds, but to get it refunded I had to go in person, which just left a bad taste in my mouth.
It reminded me of a similar thing that happened the last time I was looking at a bike — someone else “maybe” had it, no clear timetable, lots of waiting around. And a few months ago I got replacement lights that were recommended as a strong upgrade, but they were actually lower power for more money, the strap snapped in about a month, and the battery life hasn’t been great.
None of this is a crisis. I’m not looking for refunds or to flame anyone. Everyone I’ve talked to has been really nice. But the whole reason I want to buy local is because I value the relationship and the trust. When the inventory stuff is confusing, timelines are unclear, and returns are harder than purchases, it makes me step back and think twice.
If it helps: just clearer timelines and expectations would go a long way. And if deposits can be taken instantly over the phone, being able to refund them that way too would feel fair.
I want to support local and I hope the feedback is useful. Thanks.
Good service
Friendly, knowledgeable and quick service
Even though they were busy at closing time, 6 different members of the staff helped me make sure my kids and I got exactly the bike we were looking for with all the accessories and were able to bike safely home. They even helped adjust the bikes we didn’t buy there. The advice they gave saved us money, and the idea that we can return the bike we bought there when my daughter outgrows it is amazing.
Service + knowledge was great, accessory pricing a little on the expensive side.
The staff at Bicycle Habitat are kind and skilled at what they do. I've been to a number of bike shops in Brooklyn and Manhattan over the years, and Bicycle Habitat is my favorite. They always take care of me and the experience feels effortless. Not just because they leave my bike in perfect condition, but they make me feel like a human being every time I walk through the door. Thank you for keeping my bike in good condition, for making it easy, and for your kindness.
Great service on the spot. Resolved my issue with clarify and professionalism.

Quick & easy
I’m conflicted about my experience. It’s been a looong time since I’ve paid for a tube replacement. On the one hand, I’m happy to know that your mechanics are making a fair wage. On the other hand, $30 for a 5 minute tube replacement is absolutely wild! He didn’t even have to take the wheel off of a bike because I brought in just the wheel. It took literally 5 minutes. Also, he asked me to hold on to the valve cap because he “has a history of forgetting to put them back on.” Excuse me? For those prices, I shouldn’t be the one responsible for ensuring that my parts and pieces aren’t lost.
So, I was thrilled to receive such prompt and quick service, but I’m having a really hard time with $30 for a 5 minute flat repair. I love that y’all always seem to be busy when I walk or ride by, business seems to be good. I wish you well, but I likely won’t be back (especially for emergency flat repairs).
extremely kind and knowledgeable staff and mechanics
Great helpful staff
Friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, reasonable
Efficient, quick, thorough and pleasant
Everyone was kind and helpful.
Services are great
Timing of bike repair- wish I had had more of a heads up about when it would be ready (and that it wouldn't be ready when they told me it would)
Better communication (was told I would receive a text when the bike was ready and had to call to find out) and more transparent pricing on repairs and replacement parts, as well as better communication about what options there were for repairs/replacement. Overall happy with the experience, staff was courteous and friendly, repairs were done quickly, and it was a very smooth experience.
quick service, friendly and helpful staff, clear communication
Excellent service
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff! They explain exactly what's wrong with your bike and how much it will cost to fix it. It's a family atmosphere.

all store personnel are so knowledgeable and helpful, no question too small for them to answer!
