Very professional. Pleasant environment.
Align better with the schools children are in and what their curriculum looks like. My children needed more read aloud opportunity and that’s not possible in the environment that sylvan provides. Otherwise, good experience and happy my kids progressed as they did.
We love Branda. She is very responsive and follow through with us parents on our inquires and concerns.
Almost no oversight on how the different tutors are focusing on the study plans agreed on by the account manager. Quality of the tutors varies very much. Not much thought on matching tutors with students. Seems to be strictly on schedules of the tutors, not of the students.
My kids enjoy the wonderful teachers and nice location and learning experience!

I like that my daughter loves it, that it isn't a fight to get her to go, and that it has noticeably (and in a short period) increased her confidence and success in math!
For students attending two times a week classes, there may be a better makeup class policy than to let them pick another day within 30 days period. For busy families with many kids, it maybe better to allow them to have a credit for one more scheduled class, especially if it is their cultural New year and if their attendance have been 100%.

Thank you for taking the time to provide input on our makeup policy. I understand that it can be difficult for some families to make up missed sessions with a busy schedule. We wanted to be sure that you know that if you provide two weeks’ notice of a planned absence, there is no requirement to book a makeup. The reason for our policy is that we plan out our tutors’ schedules two weeks in advance and they in turn block off scheduled times on their busy calendars.
If you are aware of other holidays or vacation times where your children will not be able to attend tutoring, please let us know! We are happy to take them off the schedule for those dates with two weeks’ notice.

Two items:
Make it easier for high school students to have a quiet room/area to study every day Monday through Friday, rather than always having to come so late in the afternoon or evening.
Weekend hours always put as a 2-hour time block, sometimes a student just needs to do one assignment, just needs one session. Support that need.

I'm just reaching out to say thank you for your recent input via our Voice of the Customer system:
I wanted to be sure you are aware that the only required two hour weekend block is on Sunday morning from 10:30 - 12:30 (we need this as an incentive to get our tutors to come in on a Sunday morning!). We have one-hour weekend sessions available at the following times:
Saturday
9:30
10:30
11:30
12:40
1:40
Sunday
12:40
1:40
Also, we should have some additional earlier weekday sessions opening up in mid-January. We have several dozen 8th graders preparing for their HSPT exam right now, but the will be finished up on 1/11 which should free up some space.
Thank you also for your input regarding a study room. We are a bit bursting at the seams right now with meetings, testing and tutoring, but will keep this in mind should we reconfigure space in the future.

Very flexible on payments and scheduling lessons!
They are professional, the tutoring is tailored to our learner & it’s an encouraging place to build skills.
My son love the instructors. I wish we get an online calendar to keep track of the days and hours.

Sylvan makes sure every child’s needs are met accordingly. I am happy as a parent to have enrolled my child at Sylvan. It’s been just a few weeks with my daughter but I have seen how she has improved academically with confidence. Staff and her tutor are friendly and approachable. Thanks to Sylvan.

Everyone at Sylvan West Portal is enthusiastic about what they are teaching. There is passion for empowering each student to achieve their academic goals. My girls LOVE going to Sylvan West Portal, when we miss a class they don't like it. I would recommend Sylvan West Portal to everyone I know!
Great teachers! My children love going.
Very personable and helpful. My daughter enjoys Sylvan and feels empowered by the teachers.
One of the tutors there makes my daughter really uncomfortable and she's not able to focus when she's assigned to him as a result. We told Sylvan and asked that she not be assigned to this tutor again. Despite this, she has been assigned to this particular tutor four more times. My daughter says she'll simply walk out next time... and I don't blame her. If she can't focus and her scores will be affected, what's the point?
Convenient and my child likes it
It has been about a month there. So far very happy with services and the learning environment.
Everyone has been very helpful with our kids. The teachers work hard and care as much about our children's success as their regular teachers do.

People are very professional and friiendly. Also , sometimes we have unexpected events and you guys are always very flexible in accommodating schedule changes.
Sylvan in San Francisco on West Portal was the best service I used this year. My kids have improved in math, english and most importantly in their academic confidence.
It’s very pricey and requires a long term commitment to see significant results.
Very responsive, really strong communication from the staff so there are no surprises. My daughter’s confidence has gone way up since starting and she closed a full year gap in just 4 months. We are very happy with the service.
