i just to expensive but is gfood to kis learning
Customer service, individual plans for each child, regular assessment testing and reviews with the parents and the director.
Be very helpful for kids and also very flexible for parents! My son feels very happy to study at Sylvan of west portal in San Francisco. Thanks!
The child liked going there and enjoyed the experience, especially the token system.
Maybe have a 2 to 1 ratio for the students coming in. Not 3 to 1
We were waiting to hear back from the Coordinator, but never heard back. She was new, so we thought we would give her time. Although the program is expensive, if our children can benefit, we would continue. Without any input or guage of progress, it is difficult for us to continue with the program.
We love the fill in the gaps approach to learning. Camille isn't wasting her time on learning stuff she already knows, but is gaining the skills she needs to understand the whole thing. Her results have been very quick and dramatic!
You take an active interest in my child's needs.
Kelly Page explained everything clearly and matter-of-factly.
I felt that the people who taught my son truly cared for his desire to further his learning -
$$
Consistent.
Pricing is very expensive. Would expect a private tutor for 58 per hour.
The personal attention given to the student.
The tutoring is essentially one on one. Since you have one teacher to three students the students get the attention that they need. My son learned all that he missed during school is one months of tutoring. He is now ready to go to high school prepared for class. An extra plus is the confidence he has gained in his ability to do math and tackle hard problems.
Very attentive and focused on what my child needs to work on.
The one on one attention given when needed. The staff made my daughter feel comfortable during each reading session. When she needed help it was given without making her feel uncomfortable.
Everything....Everybody is so helpful, respectful and kind. My family and I are very thankful for your services.
If Sylvan had more reinforcement exercises to take home, it would be more beneficial. The program did provide us with additional work, but the work did not correlate with what was being done in the program. We were giving some additional work that was in essence a book report. We would have preferred to have assignments relating to the work done at Sylvan.
At this time, we don't really know if Sylvan is benefiting them (2 boys). Perhaps, email updates with performance results would help.
My son is super focused now on doing the reading program. His school complains how he cannot focus and is easily distracted. I no longer believe this since he is able to do well in the reading program given the right incentive. He really likes the token system and it seems to work.
Communicate once monthly with parents as to how their child is doing and how the parent can help if they are inclined.
Keeping parents like myself informed of my child's progress. Programs and when classes are offered work for us.
Not sure yet. My son won't start until tomorrow. We will see how it goes. It looks okay for now except for the cost of $58 for one-on-one and $50 for 3-1 which is very expensive. And, the class room setup which are wide open and small desk space. This will invites distractions for my child.
More individual attention vs other programs; flexibility; close tie-in to student school (ie, collaboration with student's teacher); regular conferences with Sylvan for student performance updates.
The teachers are professional.
tailored and personal services as well as the dedication of the staff
-We did not get the desire time slot, it would be nice if Sylvan can accommodate our schedule rather than the other way round.
no nonsense and my sons math grade definitely imporvoed and so did his attitude.

The director, Ms. Diana Levey, has always been very attentive and supportive to listening to my concerns about my child's learning needs, and develops programs and strategies to help her achieve her goals. Further, she is very accessible. This has really made a big difference in my decision to keep my daughter in Sylvan. Thank you.
