The staff is always very welcoming, making every visit through the doors a pleasant experience. They are also helpful in all areas of the facility. Once I figured out how to use the app, I found it very easy to enroll and cancel classes. The indoor walking track at this facility provides me with a tool to strengthen my legs and glutes. My doctors keep reminding me that walking is the best exercise for weight loss and heart strengthening. I enjoy the pool's depth for aqua fitness classes. I am looking forward to getting healthier at the YMCA.
I love the group classes! All of the instructors are great and super encouraging! I also think the front desk staff are nice and welcoming.
I like the community; however, we don't have the class offerings that some other Y's do. We used to have Zumba Tone on Friday nights, for example, and now, it's only every 3rd Friday. If you miss it for some reason, you have to wait almost another month. Makes no sense. No TRX, no kettle bell classes, no boot camp anymore either.
The classes offered there are ones I like to take - Yoga and Body Pump. Absolutely love Molly K, wish she was able to teach every Saturday and more during the week at the 5-6PM time slot!
Also, I Poole is nearest to me and as a smaller facility, has a low key and friendly atmosphere I like.
One piece of constructive feedback: Lindsey, who teaches Body Pump on Mon and Weds evenings, is a great instructor. However, she is often unprepared - makes frequent mistakes through the routines. I think she just needs to up her game and prepare in advance for the routines she take us through, like Rae J and Stephen U at Kraft on Thursday evenings. This week I am trying Cher instead at Kraft.
I enjoy my classes and the many Thrive Senior Activities. I have many friendships I have acquired through these classes and activities. I love Ellen and Lindsey’s classes.
A few requests:
Ditch music with lyrics counter to Christian ideals touted by Young Men’s Christian Association.
Lower decibels of music in classes to a level that doesn’t damage hearing.
Please order many larger size Les Mills weights for those (especially males) in the lifting classes who can’t snap on enough weight to get the heavier workout they want.
Please allow a coffee vendor to sell coffee in the lobby.
I still absolutely love my YMCA and always promote it in the community.

We love the friendly atmosphere but having a special needs son, I wish there could be be an extra adapt exercise class due the week.
A very nice facility, clean, well run, the pool is very very nice and so is the locker room.
The lady who started the process was so kind and sweet. She took care to answer questions and let us in the pool while she finished. We really are so impressed by everyone there, lifeguards and also check in at pool are always very nice!
I love the exercise classes. Instructors are amazing and helpful. Front desk is always polite and willing to help. I only wish you could fix the app so it would track the classes you take instead of having to put it in manually.

Amazing facilities, and excellent staff
I love the Poole YMCA! I love the classes, pool, and the family/ community feel.
A few suggestions:
- The 6:35pm dance class on Mondays needs to be moved back to 6:40pm like it is on Wednesdays. Pump is way too rushed to get out. It’s not safe. The instructors rush through the songs and don’t leave enough time for water or rest in between sets. Someone is going to get hurt.
- often times late in the afternoon or early evening the three private restrooms downstairs are dirty due to the kids using them. Often times there is urine on the floor or seats. Those bathrooms could be monitored more closely.
- The workout floor does not leave very much room to walk in between the equipment. There needs to be a space in front of a mirror so people can use free weights. The new set up feels more cramped than the last set up and the last set up was very cramped. it would be nice to have a space on the side for women to squat so the entire gym doesn’t have to stare at their butts.
Aerobics instructors at excellent. Love the Les Mills lineup and hope you offer even more classes. Please replace the lightbulbs in the aerobics room with LED lights so they don’t generate so much heat. Please add more ceiling fans. Consider tinting the windows so we can keep the blinds open during class. Please keep the AC in the aerobics room cold! Thank you - love the Y.

I love the Les Mill classes with the instructors as well as the Virtual ones that have been added recently. The instructors are knowledgeable and approachable.
Are you going to implement the check in kiosk to avoid over crowing the classes? as Poyner and others Ys are doing it? I would recommend the Poole YMCA to anyone.
The great helpful staff, classes offered, cleanliness very important, but need to add an abdominal machine to the equipment probably 2 as everyone will want to use it. It is a great Y
Great instructors, great facilities, excellent Les Mills classes -- even the virtual ones. Rose B. is wonderful, and Rae is also a fine instructor.
The check-in kiosk is a good idea, and the cycling classes are first-rate. Keep it up!
