All of the counselors have been great. Skywalker (Noah) allowed Maxwell to participate in Band Camp at Swift Creek Middle School and then attend camp in the afternoon. Sully (Maximus) was so engaging and full of life.
Love the classes, location and staff. Everyone is always welcoming and I always feel better and a sense of accomplishment after a workout!
Everyone is very friendly, staff members have helped my son feel comfortable in a new environment. The whole program is fun and seems very well run.
My kids have a grea time at camp and have many interesting activities to do. Matthen and his staff take great care with them

The Poole Y changed my life. In my recovery from breast cancer, which included a bi-lateral mastectomy, I found a new community of friends who not only helped me become physically healthy again, but also helped me have how again!

I love the diversity at Poole Family YMCA. I also love the downstairs gym area that is very spacious. My son and I are members at Kerr and the basketball court is in an awkward area, which makes it too crowded during sports season. We love that Poole offers a variety of sports basketball teams in the summer months. Kerr has not always offered these options for U5.
I feel that the kid basketball team experience is enjoyable however, I get concerned when we have paid over $100.00 for my son to play and there are not enough coaches for the teams. It seems a bit unfair to families who have paid to be told their child’s team doesn’t have a coach. Perhaps, the coaches could be recruited earlier. Also, this year the kid basketball ball season was changed to after the 4th of July through Labor Day, when it was communicated at registration that the season schedule would start earlier and end in August. My son participates in football in the fall beginning in August and the schedule change created an inconvenience.
It is a clean and friendly facility. There are plenty of activities to keep anyone busy, and the exercise machines seem in good repair and up to date.
Having a pool in the summertime is a nice feature.
It would be nice if you built some racquetball courts there as it is a bit of a trip to use them at the other Y facilities.

The facilities and staff are excellent. There is a bit of a fly problem in the showers which is the only issue that prevented me from giving you a 10

Amazing staff!! Wonderful program. My son was happy at drop off and happy and tired at pick up!! I wish y’all had this year long for track out weeks.
The counselors are just wonderful, I appreciate the positive values they model for my son. And a special thank you to Camp Director Matthew for being an amazing program lead!

The people, the beautiful and clean facility, the feeling of community and welcoming spirit, the fantastic instructors and classes they lead and the awesome pool! In short, everything!!!
Although I was born and raised in Garner, I am only there intermittentantly for significant stretches to provide help to my parents who live in Heather woods across from the Y! My mom died 3 years ago and my sister 20 years ago so it's just my dad and me now. Each time I've been home, the Poole Family Y has given me much needed respite, and has been a huge part of my self-care as a main caregiver. Staff has been great and have accommodated me each time in temporarily joining while in Garner. They have even waived the sign up fee without my asking each time!
So the Y is a big part of why I love returning home, even under challenging circumstances.
