I’m an experienced cyclist but can still find he attitude of other cycling shops a bit patronising, but al the people at Pearson are friendly and talk to you like a grown up.

Honest service which went above and beyond what was requested
Feedback-staff and Sheen shop much better than others I visited in SW London but:
-I am not yet sure that buying a new bike during the pandemic was a good idea on my part.
-I first rang up for an appointment about buying a new bike (my first for 20+ years) but was told this wasn't necessary and to just turn up. When I did, obviously sensible precautions were being observed but that did not make choosing and buying a new bike easy.
-Having done a considerable amount of research, I arrived expecting to buy a Trek Dual Sport 3. I thought this was mostly likely to be a good choice for this part of London with its wide range of cycling from main roads (which I avoid if possible), side roads and alleys, gravel trails and (to a lesser extent) Commons' tracks. However, I was told "we don't sell many of those" and steered towards a similar Ridley or Trek FX 3. An FX3 was due in 3 weeks later so we went for that.
-When the bike arrived, I telephoned and asked about having a fitting at the same time as collection. I was told this was not necessary.
-Upon collection, I took the bike (which seems very good of its kind) for a short test ride (on road of necessity), the saddle height was adjusted and the sale completed.
-Having owned it for a week +, I am not sure I have done the right thing at the best time and maybe could have done better with more advice. There is nothing wrong with the FX 3 itself but for me the ride is harder than I expected on anything other than good road surfaces and, having done more research including talking to Trek, there appears more to a good fit and comfortable saddle position than just saddle height.
So would I not approach it the same way again, have expected more time and support as a relative novice, and backed my initial instincts more regardless, probably yes to all of those (although I now realise I may not be your 'target market'.
Anyway, all intended as constructive feedback.
