Staff are great, facilities are clean, it has all the equipment that I need. It's my local gym and it feels very welcoming.
I have been a member of the Lakewood Y for almost 40 years. What makes the Lakewood Y special is the staff. Right now, Christee, Shane, Darnell, TJ, and George the repair man all engage and interact with the members in a special way. They seem to love their work, and it passes through to the members. They are kind and generous people.
I very much appreciate the Lakewood YMCA. The staff are fantastic. I love that there are active youth programs, giving children and their families a chance to be involved in active lifestyles.
I love the racquetball courts. I like having access to the free weights and the various machines, and use them frequently. I like the variety of elliptical and treadmills. And, last but not least, I like the sauna!
Finally, I appreciate that this Y is always clean, both inside and out. I highly recommend this Y. 10/10!

The staff is wonderful and accomodating. The exercise equipment is updated and kept in good working order. the mens steam room works most of the time.
The showers need work, not all of them are currently working
Staff are always friendly and helpful, facility is small enough to not feel overwhelming, not too crowded or loud. Feels like a community. Reasonably priced.

My son really enjoys afterschool and the counselors.

Variety of classes offered and friendly staff!
The staff are welcoming and friendly. I especially love Ashley's Saturday morning 9:15 outdoor (weather permitting) exercise class.
My daughter loves the experience. We have heard recently that cell phones are starting to be allowed on Fridays. I don't know how much that affects my kindergartener, but we would prefer to limit cell phone usage.
Small but great staff
I needed help joining the Y after being away for a long time. The staff member on duty Thursday afternoon could not have been more patient and helpful. He answered all my questions and completed the process for me.

My daughter does afterschool at the school but she loves it and loves the activities that the counselors have planned for them.
I like the variety of equipment, clean facility, lack of over crowding, parking and convenience of location.
The team is very tentative they give me feedback when something occurs or if my son is sick. The team also ensures he makes it to the right car which lessens my anxiety.
I love the attention the counselors give my child. I also love the social-emotional development my child is gaining from their experience at the Y. Having a child with special-needs and knowing they are being well-cared for and respected keeps my mind at ease.
