My kids absolutely love the YMCA Day Camp in Midlothian! Every day, they come home with huge smiles, excited to share what they did and already looking forward to the next day. The field trips and swim days are definite favorites — they talk about them nonstop and always have fun stories to tell.
A big shoutout to some of the amazing staff that have made a lasting impression on my kids. These are just a few of the names they mention in our car ride home: Ms. Alexa, Mr. Kris, Ms. Aime, and Ms. Jayden —and All the Midlothian staff please know your kindness, energy, and care really shine through, and it means the world to us as parents to know our kids are in such great hands.
The only thing I would love to see improved is more communication or visibility into the daily activities. I do have the app, but there hasn’t been much posted or shared, so it’s hard to know exactly what’s happening throughout the day unless my kids remember to mention it. A few updates or photos here and there would go a long way in helping parents stay connected and in the loop.
Overall, we’ve had a great experience and are grateful for everything the staff does to make summer such a fun and enriching time. Thank you YMCA Midlothian team!
My daughter and two nieces all go to camp lobos they have been there for weeks and they love the experience. They always have a good day everyday. Devon and his staff are very helpful. We really appreciate them they made me feel very comfortable and safe when I leave my girls at camp they always are sending updates and answering any questions we need. The girls love Mr. Devon they have made this a great summer for my girls

From the bottom of my heart—my son and I absolutely love the YMCA!
Since this is his first time ever being in a school, daycare, or camp setting, it was an emotional transition for both of us. But I’ve been so fortunate to have a team that is not only supportive of my son but of me as a parent as well.
He talks about swim lessons and archery every single day, he genuinely loves being part of this program. I’m especially grateful for his group leaders, who made him feel like he belonged, even when it wasn’t easy in the beginning. Their patience and kindness have made a big impact.
A special thank you to our Program Director, Timm. My son doesn’t have many male role models in his life, and his whole face lights up when he sees Timm during the day. That connection means so much to both of us.
And to our Site Director, Bethany—thank you for your incredibly genuine heart. You’ve made us feel welcomed and understood from the very start. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to support and guide my son through his first camp experience.

Arrange some age appropriate sessions maybe like reading challenge, math workshop as my elder kid who is 12 is finding arts and craft very boring

The camp director and staff are so kind, professional and organized. They program is a perfect balance of fun and learning for the summer. I grew up in the YMCA and learned how to swim at the Y and it is as great now as it was then. This is our first year in the summer program, but will not be our last.
I liked the fact that they kept my kids engaged in different activities as well as making them have a swim test. This proved to me that my kids safety was your #1 priority. Plus, my kids enjoyed the experience and that made me happy.
