Clean Facility with lots of options.
The space, the water facilities, the sauna. Wish they had a steam room though!
Great classes and friendly instructors. I enjoy the variety of classes and many time options.
I find it peculiar above the vending machine (which include bad product for our body) they have very bad ingredients in them.
Above the vending machine machines, they have a monitor that says healthy happens here. Very contradictory with the vending machines below the monitor. May I suggest getting rid of the vending machines with such bad products? These products do not promote healthiness.
staff is friendly. Gym is clean. Would LOVE to see the rock wall come back and maybe some sort punching bags?
Transferred to the Y from MVP after 25 years due to economics. Have been pleased with the facility and the helpfulness of the YMCA staff. The size of the facility takes some adjustment, but the benefits make it worthwhile.
The indoor walking/running track.
Clen, welcoming environment
Great place to exercise with the whole family. We especially enjoy swimming and the track.
I really like the indoor track!
I have liked all interactions with employees, all classes I have participated in so far, and all weights/machines have been great! Most importantly, the YMCA in this area has a more diverse client population than the population I typically see living in Forest Hills (which is one aspect I greatly dislike about Forest Hills).
MFB Y is an outstanding facility. Finally, a Y that has enough locker space.
Multiple options for healthy exercise from walking to weights to many exercise machines.
In the beginning, I chose the MFB YMCA because of the track. I’m a runner who does not care to run on treadmills, but who also has difficulty running outside in winter due to Raynaud’s; the track solved both problems. But I’ve since found that there’s a great deal to appreciate about MFB beyond the track, including the many machines, the great diversity of classes available, and the pools. The facilities are clean, the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, and there’s good parking
just need a touch more free room to exercise. I little tight in areas. but the track and the accessability is a 10plus plus
It is convenient and the people there are very helpful and friendly.
Mary Free Bed is clean, the staff is friendly, and it has mostly everything you can ask for from a gym. A cold plunge would be nice ;) and extending weekend hours would be more convenient.
I like the long track and the number of machines. The staff is helpful.
Accessibility of equipment, great staff
Like the classes - especially CardioDance with Deb
Like the track during the winter!
Like the friendly staff at the front desk
Like how clean everything is
Areas for improvement:
Very hard to get on the machines as so many people are just staying on them and checking their phones after they’re done. Wish staff could walk around and help with that
Friendly staff, clean—especially the bathrooms, lots of classes and equipment to use at any level. I am a big fan of the pool and open swim times plus walking the track.
Helpful staff, good vibe, great mix of people, just like real life!
friendly staff including front desk greetings and the lifeguards are friendly too
I attend the water aerobics classes. I enjoy the instructors, the size of the pool and the people I’ve met at the classes.
Love the water aerobics classes and instructors!
A nice selection of work out equipment. Facility is well maintained. the staff is cordial. The group fitness instructors are excellent. The value received in relation to the cost is great.
Sarah Ensenat, my trainer, is awesome! She is so motivating, mixes up my work outs and I am never bored.
The classes, socializing, gives me something every day to do and look forward to.
Mary Free Bed is a well laid out and clean facility. I am happy and will continue working out there.

It’s great fun for the entire family!
