The facilities are very nice and clean. Many options
I like about everything. Workout place, swimming, hot tub and sauna.
I love the variety of classes. The family locker rooms really need some love though. They look worn, are frequently sopping wet with hair and other soggy debris, and frequently smell.
I can come do my thing in a safe warm environment (during a cold snowy winter) at most any time that is convenient for my schedule.
My daughter just completed the four week Youth Volleyball fundamentals session, and we are so impressed with the instructors and skills taught in the class. It was amazing to see my daughter’s volleyball skill level improve so quickly in a short period of time. Thank you to the instructors at the Mary Free Bed YMCA for their patience and encouragement during this past Volleyball Fundamentals class.
Great facility and staff equipped for even the busiest times
Clean, lots of space.
Clean, up to date and very accessible
Convenient to where I live, clean, and has a spacious indoor track.
The variety, frequency, and quality of classes, equipment, instruction and trainers are best in class.
I see all ages young and old trying to live a healthy lifestyle.
this facility works for me due to its location, my ability to usually get my preferred work out
done timely; keep updating equipment; it would be nice if there was one additional
'stairstep' unit
Every time I visit it seems the breadth of our community is represented. It is a 'safe' place for people to of all ages and fitness levels - it does not seem a place of shallow aspirations or judgement. If you are there it is assumed you are working to optimize your health at whatever level that might be. These are key reasons I invest my member dollars in the Mary Free Bed YMCA. It's the culture that keeps bringing me back week to week.
Kudos to the training staff. I have received great support from my trainer in meeting my health goals over the last year. The only constructive criticism I can offer would be exercise class sizes. They are so full and crowded that I chosen not to participate in any of them. The exercise class space seems too limited to serve the interest level of the member population. Expansion or reallocation of space might help as the classrooms upstairs seems most often empty.
Thanks for soliciting feedback.
We participate in the Parkinson programs and are so pleased that MFBed Y offers these programs to the community.
Helpful, friendly staff. Pretty good equipment.
Great facility, pleasant staff, accommodating hours.
Very nice facility , staffs very knowlegd and helpful
The track and pickleball.
I would assume the new pickleball nets are coming in the next couple weeks after spending all that money on the new machines I would assume you could spring for a couple of new nets to replace the old broken ones.
My fa favorite part of my MFB YMCA experience is Group fitness comradery. Great inspirational instructors and team motivation. I could never push myself to the same level I get at MFB!
The staff is great, the instructors are wonderful, the classes are fun. I feel welcomed and never judged by my appearance. I also love how much the Y does for the community.
We enjoy the pool with the hot tub and the water aerobics class. Having an indoor track allows us to walk comfortably in any weather all year long.
Love Mary Free Bed. Not every area of the country has access to such an amazing family fitness and wellness facility. I love that the West Michigan YMCA's provide an opportunity for families and people of all ages and backgrounds to embrace a healthy lifestyle and learn new skills, sports, etc. The Mary Free Bed location is in great condition and has a nice, fresh vibe.
We particularly love Tom, who often mans the front desk. He's so friendly and makes you feel like you belong there.
Free membership with Medicare. Safe place to walk and work out in winter.
Lots of things to do, well maintained, couldn't think of anything I'd change.
Good place to exercise.
The sports sampler for young kids to teach a variety of sports and expose them to a variety! I wish it was available for first graders too!
Dave the pickleball coach is great. I learn something new each class!
Coach Jake who is teaching my sons 3-5 yr old bball class is awesome with the kids. My son is 5 and is really enjoying the class.
The clean facility and the friendly staff make coming to the Y a great experience.

Group fitness classes! Appreciate Body Pump being offered often and at different times of the day. Wish there was a Body Combat offered in the 6AM slot during the week, but know it's hard to schedule. Really enjoyed Body Pump heavy and hope that is able to be offered in the future too.
