Love the water classes at the Y the instructors are wonderful. Also upstairs have every free bit. They have the best physical therapy people. If you need them, they’re there for you.
This place has it all for all ages. There's an indoor walking track for winter fitness as well as pool, basketball courts, pickleball, and every kind of exercise machine you can imagine.
Its always so clean and the workers are always so friendly!
I like how many different kinds of people are there- diversity of all kinds. The gym newer thing to me as a 47 year old non-athletic person, and the diversity helped me to feel like I could fit in at the Y on my first visit.

Many and varied machines, classes, pools, track. Trainers available. Love that there are events for children to teach the importance of staying fit. Love special accommodations for handicapped.
MFBY staff are very friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and offers a huge variety of exercise experiences. Fantastic that the pool has so many lanes!

I would like to see more space to stretch with the exercise mats. Some of the fitness rooms would be nice to use when they aren't in use for other activities. I know the Wolverine YMCA does this.
My husband and I have been members of the Y for many years. The instructors have been wonderful. However, with all the new patrons, coming from MVP we think it has put a strain on our Mary Freebed Y. The classrooms have been really crowded, equipment has been short and the workout mats are getting scarce. Many of the workout mats are in bad shape. We need new ones. The stretch bands are also in rough shape. You need to purchase more. You need to purchase more of the free weights for the strength and stretch classes. If you continue to grow maybe you will have to add more classes.

There are friendly staff members. There is a wide range of mobility accessibility, so everyone is able to exercise at their own desire. I appreciate the compassion and care that the members have towards me and others as well. The culture and community of this location is unmatched.
Many options and classes, but the one time I went to Body Pump (I usually go to Lowell) it was jam packed! Great instructor, just wanted more space.
Walking
The only word I can think of is awesome, and that is an understatement! Every inch of the Mary Free Bed YMCA and the staff is absolutely top flight. My husband and I have recommended an acquaintance visit to several of our friends and they left with memberships. There will be more on the way!

Facility is state of the art, track is superb, excellent staff, it’s light and bright!
It close by, the staff is friendly and helpful and is also very clean. They have a sufficient amount of equipment so there is little to no time wasted waiting to workout with weights or machines. I also like that it is handicap accessible, for those who have physical disabilities.

It's unique design. It's appeal to disabled people. It's cleanliness (not perfect, but always being worked upon). Friendly, helpful staff. I like the others who are there . . . exercising, like me. Everybody is nice . . . they all WANT to be there. They are improving their own lives.
