I really love the laid back nature of your programs and have enjoyed my time coaching.
I would recommend a couple of things though to make your sports programs even better. I would say to really draw a hard line for players when it comes to the age cut off. There are some kids that play up an age level to stay with a team and a coach from the previous season. It makes is difficult when those players are then playing with others that are even older than the age limit.
Also, I would suggest offering incentives for volunteers (like maybe your child plays for free if you complete all training and commit to a session of coaching). I was a coach for fall soccer and it was a lot of work and there was more training required than I realized and there was quite a bit of work that went into preparations for practices and games. Also, many supplies needed for practice (pinnies, enough soccer balls, cones, etc.) are purchases that come out of the coaches' pockets.
Another idea would be just to send a reminder to all parents at the end of the season that coaches are unpaid volunteers and to encourage having their child write a card of appreciation to them. I think any way that you can have people show appreciation to the people that volunteer their time to make these sports happen will only strengthen the program and encourage coaches to return.
Also, I think it would be helpful to have some of the coaches that know each sport create sample practice plans for those coaches who have never played the sport before. I would be happy to help with this for soccer! I created practice plans that I could share with other coaches. I love the MOJO resource, but I found many of the recommended drills too complex for my players. Creating a supportive community of coaches and maybe even a mentoring program for new coaches would be very helpful.
Feel free to reach out to me if you would like to follow-up on any of this. My name is Name removed and you should have my contact info in the SW branch

They are family friendly
There is something for everyone and every fitness level. Total acceptance regardless of age or
background or athletic experience. Nothing fancy, but well-maintained equipment and space for all sorts of activities.
The welcoming environment.
I love that the atmosphere is like family. You meet people in classes and through kids’ activities and then it’s fun to hang out and catch up when you see each other every week.
I have not really participated any yet but we’ll get to it

I can find many classes that fit my schedule and needs. The instructors are great and the time goes fast. They are always willing to make adjustments which mean a lot to seniors with restrictions. Everyone is friendly and it is easy to make new friends with a common goal.
