The variety of classes is what I like best about the YMCA.
Love the staff, pool and flexibility of workout hours.
For us, YMCA has been a great place for our kids activities. Just sharing my experience we had with the swim classes for my son who is 4 years old and was very reluctant to get in the water and was having a tough time. But the staff personally attended to him and made him very comfortable. He got into the water and made good progress. So that’s something which they did way out of their box according to me. And that’s why YMCA is always going to be the best for me.

The workout machines are updated and very good. I like the fact that many of them have individual televisions. The metal lockers need to be updated with new lockers with built-in locks. The faucets don't always come on when you want them to. ....suggest handled off-on faucets, or auto shut-off push faucets.
It is helping me with balance and pain. Like the staff and people I have met.
We love to use the pool as it is zero entry and perfect for the little ones
The instructor is nice and the facility is clean.
I only use the pool. The Downtown branch is closer to me but the pool is ALWAYS crowded and the facilities are pretty run down. So SW is nicer and more accessible for swimming.
I do have to say I'm not too impressed with the new paint job in the pool area -- too much white! And I don't at all like the blue dot screening sheets on the windows. I like to be able to look outside while I'm catching my breath in the pool. Also, I don't think parents in the observation room can see their kids in the pool, now that those blue dot screens are on the windows.
I’ve been going to chair yoga and there have been several different instructors. They have all been great and I feel like I get a lot out of the class. Thanks
Group exercises as well as equipment. The fellowship with others.
Gym is always available to accommodate my flexible schedules when I need it.
My favorite thing about the SW YMCA is that it feels very family oriented. My boys and I spend a lot of time there playing basketball and swimming. I was really happy to see the evening activities return for families. We had a lot of fun at the monthly Friday night ones prior to the pandemic.
I like all the different classes.
Great environment
Friendly staff
Great Classes
A good variety of offerings. Different time slots for popular sessions. Good instructors. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful people at the front desk.
The friendliness of the staff
I believe the class is now named “Brain and body. The class size is perfect. The instructors (Heather and Ami) are personable and passionate. I enjoy the class, but I may have to take a breather soon as I have some fiscal management to catch up on.
Thanks for asking for my comments and observations.
Staffs are amazing 🤩, facilities are clean and good conditions
There are so many classes and activities offered for all ages and abilities, No judgement, all are welcome. I love every staff member!
Friendly, welcoming ,well trained. The members are so nice and friendly as well. I look forward to going to my Y! Thank you!
Enjoy the Silver Sneakers group classes. Appreciate the occasional exercise challenges like March Madness for seniors to earn a tee shirt. Like the pot luck community lunches. Like the opportunity to learn new things like pickle ball. The instructors are excellent.
I like your Zumba! I don’t like when the days or times are suddenly changed with no input from members.
Age appropriate and there are classes almost all day long.
It is close to me
Everything is great at the Southwest Omaha YMCA
Something for everyone
Lisa L is a good instructor and we have been to several types of classes with her. She does a good job of watching individuals in the class who might now be as advanced, and providing alternative movements. We also trally like that there is at least one morning with yoga at Southwest (sunrise yoga). We would really like more yoga classes in the morning at your location. We travel to Armbrust often for yoga offered when the SW location doesn't have it.
I live less than a mile to the Armbrust YMCA. But after going there with my grandson several times and being disappointed the last two times we have chosen the Southwest YMCA as our new go to. It’s further away but my grandson enjoys the Southwest better so that’s where we will take him.
I attend Silver Sneakers Classes and I love everything about the classes and staff.

The restorative yoga was very restorative:)
